He explains the material well. There is a fair amount of homework, but is great practice, as the tests are similar to the homework. He goes over questions people have on the homework (after it's turned it, but well before the test). Although he showed some more complicated proofs in class, he rarely had them on the tests.

Very nice guy. And you can tell he's very brilliant. It does get quite dry during lectures but, as it's Statistics, that's the nature of the beast. He even recognizes that and he gave us 5 minute breaks mid-way through class most days. Sort of an awesome gesture that most teachers don't give. I'd take another class with him.

GREAT TEACHER AND REALLY NICE. VERY EASY TO GET AN A. TEST ARE NOT HARD JUST MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

He makes mistakes a lot and just assumes you'll get the material, but overall not aweful. Just go to the problems lab an the LEARNING CENTER reviews...that's the only way I actually learned. The class was really loud too, and no one seemed to pay attention, and I don't think he cared, so it was difficult to concentrate. HOT for an old guy!

Holy hell I hated this class because of him. I still got an A but ****...this guy is a complete ass in every aspect of his teaching. I had him 3 years ago, maybe he is better now, but I had to stop going to his classes I hated him so much. I had my friends tell me when tests where and they handed all my stuff in for me. AVIOD AT ALL COST!

HATED the CLASS! It was so difficult to follow and he acted like we should just GET IT!Fortunately, I like math and taught myself. Also, really wasn't a very welcoming guy that I felt. Frusterating, had to print out all the notes before class or scribble junk. Heard Wright has a cheap book for his.

never thought i would do this well in a math class. speckman is a great professor and offers a ton of extra help-study sessions, previous exams, etc. such a kind sweet man too.
