She was my advisor but I only met her once. She mocked me, called other students over to mock me, and told me to drop out of school all because I never came in to say hello. It was a confusing and humiliating. She wouldn't even look at the classes I wanted to take.

Penny was the worst professor under whom I ever studied lighting. I suppose I could deal with such a ridiculous persona from someone competent in their field but its been years since Penny has even done off-Broadway work. She is not worth a moment of your time. Go study at one of the other four colleges. Try Smith.

Very inconsistent. Great if she likes you. If she doesn't care for you LOOK OUT, she is mean and vindictive. She always has one person she humiliates per year. I don't like that people let her get away with it. Everyone who has had her for class knows what I am talking about. Shame on you all! I am shocked she hasn't been sued.

penny is a fantastic teacher. her teaching style takes some getting used to, but she is all about having fun in class but its also a lot of work. she is always willing to meet with you for extra help. she is all bark and no bite :)

Because she was so lacking in common courtesy, it constantly distracted me from anything she was teaching. She has a tendency to develop grudges against certain students and will think nothing of taunting them for their questions/participatio

Penny is amazing. I didn't know anything about lighting design or electrics before taking this class and now I feel like I could get actual work as an electrician. Just work hard and ask for help if you need it. Penny never pushes you farther than you can be pushed.

That's lighting design Studio (Theater 461), but I have also taken theater 361. If you take any of her courses, be prepared to work! She expects a lot of her students and it is only respectable to deliver the best work you can to her. Her methods are very conducive to learning and she is always available to help. Terrific advisor as well!
