Pete was so sweet. You could tell he really cared about the class. In general, almost everything he lectures on is in the book so attendance isn't really mandatory. All exams were almost exact replicas of the past tests he posts online so use those. Pretty science heavy so beware of that.

Pete was an amazing professor. He is really passionate about what he teaches and obviously has a lot of personal experience. What is said in lectures is on the tests so take good notes. The book isn't necessary and the homework is a bit time consuming but Pete made it worth it! 10/10 want to take his class again!

Pete is a funny man who makes nutrition interesting - most of the time. It is challenging to follow his notes in class, as he often just writes words or phrases on the chalkboard without much explanation. The class overall is well organized and very straightforward. He is very approachable and understanding.

Nice prof, easy to meet with outside class, clear what you need to know and comes with an online textbook. He writes all his lectures on the chalkboard so if you miss you have to get notes from someone or take book notes which are not always the same info he wants you to know. Go to lecture, take good notes, study for the exams and you'll do fine.

HW was time consuming for only being worth 7%, textbook was stupid expensive for what it's worth. For an A: Go to lecture every day. Read the book & retake notes before the exam. Study from old exams (recycled exam questions are used a LOT). Go to reviews. The material really isn't that hard if you actually try. Pete is nice, wish he did powerpoint

Tests compromise your grade, but they're soooo easy. As long as you go to lecture, you know what info is gonna be covered on the exam. Obviously the midterms have a lot of info on them, but 80% of the questions are recycled from old exams- this class is a no-brainer. And although pete sometimes went out of order in lecture, he made the info easy

Comment:
There is sooo much information on the midterms. Everything he says in lecture is brief, while questions on midterms are extremely specific and confusing. I really struggled finding out a good way to study for this class. But he uses a lot of the same exact questions out of the practice exams, so study all of those for sure and read the book.

Nutri Sci is easy if you pay attention in class and make sure to take notes from the book on your own. One of the exams gets dropped but try hard on the first ones. Many of the questions from the practice midterms he gives you are used on your actual midterm.

Pete is a super great guy, but his lectures are typical. They aren't overly fascinating or overly boring. The homework was annoying and the textbook was never tested, but I would definitely go to lecture or else you will not succeed. Tests weren't bad but use all of the available material (past exams, notes, review guides) to study.

I hated this class. I got strait A's except for this class and I have never studied for anything as hard as I did for this class. He tests on the stupidest little unrelated things and there is so much information. Material is interesting but he is an awful professor.

Pete is a classic case of great guy, OK teacher. I needed to reschedule an exam due to a family emergency, and he was personal and sympathetic. Tests roughly reflect what's learned in lecture. Use the tests from past semesters, take practice quizzes, and go to the TA discussion sections and the test reviews. Info is informational and practical.

Professor was a great guy, but I had trouble staying focused during lecture. Took the class thinking it would be an "easy" science credit but realized it required more effort. To prepare for the tests, study past exams, take practice quizzes, and read the textbook. Online homework was easy but time-consuming. Tests make up majority of grade.

Pete was a nice guy, but he was very unorganized and his lectures jumped around a lot. Tests dont reflect what is learned in lecture. If you take this class, focus on studying past test questions Pete posts online, as many questions are recycled into his new tests. Also, focus on the readings rather than lecture content.

Do all practice tests online because the real tests are mostly based off those repeated questions. Review sessions before tests are helpful. Homework can be time consuming, but only every once in a while. Pete's a funny guy who is passionate about the subject, his home garden, and his bike that he rides to work everyday. Generally liked the class.

The lectures are kind of dry, but try to go to them because I find them a little more interesting than reading the textbook. Read the textbook for stuff you didn't understand in lecture. When preparing for the tests, just take all the past exams he has posted on the class site, because a good 70% of the questions are re-used.

I enjoyed the material the class covered. It was definitely time consuming but there weren't any difficult topics. If you put in the time to memorize various terms and functions, you'll do well. I think Pete would reuse emails from previous terms because the information was incorrect on multiple occasions.

Pete is a great professor who is really passionate about what he does. There is a lot of reading in the textbook, but if you read it and take notes, it will help you understand the lectures much more. If you go to class and read the book, you should be able to easily get an A.
