I've taken Gibeau for a few classes, as well as being part of the campus band with him. He truly cares about your education in this class, and does what he can to make sure you understand everything. He also really does shine a light on your qualities, something more teachers should do. Just make sure you pay attention :)

Prof Gibeau's teaching will make you think, but it will also make you excited about music. He expects a lot, but gives so much more. He is more than willing to help outside of class and enjoys a good laugh. He can be brutally honest, and you have to have a bit of a thick skin, but it comes from a place of caring, as he really wants you to improve.

Great teacher. Really knows everything about music. Explains everything really clear. Never thought I'd learn music theory so easily. Take him if you want to learn alot. Has lots of interesting musically related stories.

He is truly a musical genius, but is very full of himself and arrogant at times. Also in the more advanced classes, he will ask questions about topics he has not covered yet and put you on the spot to try to answer them. Overall he knows his stuff but is not one of my favorite teachers.

I love this guy! He is hilarious. The other two students in class this he favors me because I also speak German. I got a B- in the class with barely trying, and they got D-'s. He looks like an artists, talks like an author and has a doctorite in music. He's got all the arts covered.
