Prof has a way of opening up your mind with his ease of delivery. This was my best class as a foreign LLM

Comment:
Prof rambles on about history, less about law; puts conflicts into context, but isn't clear about what they might mean. Apparently wants to listen to opposing viewpoints, but it becomes clear after two or three classes that you should just tell him what he wants to hear, if you don't want to be yelled at. Painful semester.

Professor Linzer is one of THE best professors I've had at UHLC.Students criticize him because sadly, all they care about is learning the Black Letter law. They don't care about the meaning behind the law nor about its history, things Linzer emphasizes. I find his teaching method very fascinating and he's inspired me to pursue a career in the field.

Just close your eyes and envision Christopher Walken and you will get through the semester with a smile on your face. Although I could have used more cowbell! Linzer at least likes to get class discussion on current events/political oriented subjects which make for fun discussions. He has an excellent grasp on the detailed historical context also.

Prof Linzer is a fantastic legal mind and understands that law is more than dry rules. Unfortunately, many students don't seem to get that - the just want the black letter law. It was a privilege to learn under Peter Linzer.

Clearly, at one time, Linzer was a brilliant man with a razor sharp mind. Those days are over. Love to have a beer with him sometime; would gouge out my own ears with a pencil if I had to sit in another lecture. Think mental death march and you've got a pretty good idea.

Prof. Linzer is incredibly smart, knows a ton about the subjects he teaches, and is very interesting if you listen. He expects people to be prepared and to be able to answer questions intelligently.

Linzer is a pretty nice guy and a fair teacher to have for 1L contracts. He is definately more of a professor type than a lawyer type of personality. His lectures are sometimes very dense and require information filtering, but the casebook will steer you right.

Comment:
Linzer has a 'smarter than thou' mentality; when he speaks, he must think that his lecturing actually means something that demands the attention of the class. In reality, his lectures are no more than self-righteous rants. Probably the rudest and worst professor I've ever had.

Raging egomaniac, rude, and otherwise very unpleasant. If you're stuck with him your 1L year, study the current court makeup and whatever recent cases he seems to fancy. Your final will test on this.

Brilliant guy and quite entertaining. He does ramble on over tangential topics, but if you're interested in the historical developments of the law it's not so bad.

I don't know my grade yet, and I don't care. I'm just glad this train wreck is over! This was quite possibly the most boring class I've ever attended. It's almost impossible to pay attention to his ramblings. Good luck if you have to take him!

I had Professor Linzer at Washburn. He is, by far, the best professor we had in law school. We didn't realize it at the time, but he actually taught the law and didn't participate in the other nonsense most law professors do today.

Although he may have a good legal mind, he is not a good teacher. Did not connect with students very well. Many of them were playing solitaire and surfing the internet during his lectures. He drones on and on about Corbin & Williston. I won't take him again.
