Mr. Puleo is extremely knowledgeable about Criminal Law, and would provide prior experiences whenever we would discuss a new topic. The lectures were somewhat dry, however. His class is not an easy one to get an A in, unless you keep up with the readings and pay attention to his lectures.

I would definitely recommend him! Very cool ex-cop with lots of stories from back in the day. TONSSS of notes but he's very helpful with in class review days. Even tells you what subjects you should study from your notes that will be on the test. Only allowed 5 abscences'!

He is a good teacher with lots of stories and makes the class interesting BUT his grading scale is weird(basically impossible to get an A/B unless you get a near perfect score on all tests and go to every class), the class is 95% notes on the overhead 5% book, and he isn't that approachable

he was an overall great teacher. cheif of police for schiller park for a while. had tons of great stories. he really knows his stuff. the opnly downfall was, the whole class was pretty much notes! but he pretty much told the class what was gun be on the test each time so it kinda cancelled each other out. I WOULD RECCOMEND TAKING HIM.

Great teacher. KNows a lot, he has millions of stories to share with u. He has so much knowledge about criminal justice. Former UIC professor. Does review b4 each test. Attendance is 1/5 of your grade. You can be absent 4 times though. Very encouraging. Great teacher. I would recommend u to take him.

Great Teacher. All you have to do is attend class and you will pass. I did not open book once throughout course and will get a B, no homework, just go to class and if you dont want to go to class he gives you 4 absences. Take HIM

This professor is an excellent teacher and cares about his students. You will have to attend class, take notes, and read the book to do well on the tests. He is a good resource for deciding which kind of crj jobs might interest you and he is willing to help students who ask. Overall, he is one of the best instructors I've had.

He is a good teacher but he makes you take non-stop notes from the start of class to the very second before it ends. He has lots of good stories but he thinks he is the best police officer that has ever lived. His tests are kinda hard so you have to study. And bring your book to class every day bc he randomly makes students read outloud during clas

This teacher sucks. I went in for the 1st day and he said most people will get a B or C, some a D or F and like 3 will get an A. You have to read the whole book and take tons of notes. Never miss a day. Do not take this class! Take the class with Olmos cuz he rocks!!

Notes, notes, and more notes. This professor does not like to be wrong. All of the quizes and tests are straight from the notes. However, on the questions for cases, there were a few of them that were not talked about. Test questions are tricky too, either all, none, or one of the answers would be correct. Very difficult class and boring!!

He was ok, but I would have rather had Olmos for this class. The class was dry and the final had cases we never covered in class. I am normally an A student, and got a B in this class. Again Olmos would be a more enjoyable exp. for those of you looking to take this course.

Overall he's okay. Attendance is extremely important so don't take his class unless you can make it! One of the problems with Puleo is that he admits no fault for any mistakes whatsoever... so he doesn't care if questions on his tests are worded in a confusing way (and they often are) or even if there's an eraser mistake on a Scantron.
