He is a quiet old person, but he definitely does not teach his materials as well as for the students to understand the concept well. I wouldn't recommend him even if he had a sweet nature to him because his tests are definitely difficult. Try to avoid him if you can to avoid worrying about your grades.

Professor Rentzepis is not a bad professor you can tell he knows his stuff pretty well, however it is hard to understand him sometimes and he does have a quiet voice. He is a very sweet man and is old school in his way of teaching. His exams are not too hard but you will definitely need to read the text to understand the concepts completely.

I highly recommend not taking a class with Professor Rentzepis. He is hard to understand, goes through steps very fast, and expects you to understand quickly. I decided to take Chem 1P because I was bad at Chem and was scared to take 1A but now I wish I would have taken 1A because I know that this is not going to prepare me for next quarter at all

Worst teacher ever. Talks to students like they're idiots and has a giant ego. No one knows what's going on in the class and he gets angry whenever you ask a question. Avoid if possible.

Professir Rentzepis is one of the sweetest and funniest professor I have had so far. Sure he's a bit on the old side and has a very quiet voice but I was so thankful I had his lecture. He definitely deserves a better rating. His tests were not as hard as most say. He is a step by step kind of guy so I would suggest taking him :)

He is not a bad professor! The thing I like about him is that he explains everything at a pace where we can follow along & if you don't understand, he'll try to explain it even more. Honestly, it's just a matter of paying attention. His tests are mainly concepts and definitions. I highly suggest doing LARC. It helps a bunch&I never opened the book.

I don't think he's all that bad of a prof for Chem 1A. You'd have no trouble understanding/hearing him if you sat close enough. He tries to be clear and always makes sure that the class understands his slides. Sometimes he doesn't cover the material as well so textbook reading/notes is recommended. His midterm/final reviews are also helpful.

Talks quietly with an accent, but I can understand him. He's stubborn but willing to help students in office hours. Actual exams are not hard but mean is ~60% - so even though he tries to scare you with "no curve" there is a curve. The exams are NOT difficult if you read, go to LARC or peer tutoring, just take initiative to go. (Wiley doesn't help)

By far the worst professor I've had in my life and I'm in grad school, so I've gone through many classes before. Before going into his class I was excited to take this lab, but his lack of enthusiasm and organization, poor writing and oral communication skills, and his ego and moody behavior turned me off from the class completely.

This professor is by far the worst professor I've ever had. His lecture slides mostly have errors in them so it's hard to rely on them and also he does not answer students' questions properly making you leave confused. The way he teaches makes you "just accept it" rather than "understand it", so it's basically memorizing when it shouldn't be.

Everyone says he's a horrible teacher and it's not true. The only people who don't like him are the ones that think Quantum Mechanics should be easy. His tests are straightforward. He's right to get angry at students who get a 30/100. Curve is always super low, which means if you are a bit studious, or a bit smart, you will get an A. Just study!!

He's the worst professor I ever encountered. I was a straight A student until I had to take quantum mechanics with this professor. He has a temper issue...and the final was quite unreasonable. I do not believe that the goal of this course should be to memorize tons of equations....but should be to understand concepts and to be able to apply it!

I have straight A's in the chem series... Even for Ge 130A class. But with this quarter ending, I don't think that is possible for his class. His class requires ALOT of memorization, and ALOT of random things that you don't have time to go over. Listen to everyone on this site..... AVOID AT ALL COST! What a horrible class!

Unorganized, arrogant, and a jerk. He didn't come out with grade percentages until students asked. He brags at the beginning about how he wants to "make it easy" for students, but when someone asked to make the lecture slides better, he discontinued posting them on EEE, punishing everyone. The TA for the class doesn't communicate with him too.

awful -- hates questions and does not answer ones that are asked adequately. he admits his TA (who only works for his research and was not an actual TA for the class) did all of the work in writing practice exams and hws and quizzes. undeserved ego and does not respond well to any criticism, hence receives questions poorly. avoid if possible.
