He's very mean, almost impossible to reach outside of class, and he makes the tests crazy hard. Only good thing is he brings his dog to class and he may or may not let you pet him.

Professor Rosenbaum is passionate about genetics and is friendly and easy to talk to if you're struggling. He gives lots of extra credit and the extra credit work is great study practice as well. He is friendly and easy to talk to and I highly recommend his course

When you really listen to what he's teaching he is very passionate about the material making it easier to understand. He loves to engage the classroom in discussions but does not force it. He will answer any questions that you have and loves to hear student's feedback as well as loves taking questions. Very helpful if you reach out to him!

"ask me a question I know the answer to" . His exam keys were constantly wrong, always needed fixing. You should do well if you pay attention, and write down things he says that are not on the powerpoint. Then, study the slides and your notes for tests. He provides extra credit that should give you an A in the class. I liked him as a teacher.

Take Genetics with someone else!!! He is not helpful at all and will not explain ANYTHING via email! I emailed him about an issue with my final grade after I got home and he told me to make an appointment to come see him. MIND YOU, this was after already going back home! In the end he refused to respond to any further questions from me!

If I could give him a rating of zero I would. Reads in a monotone voice off the slides word for word. Only learned in lab because he was not the professor for it.

Overall, the class isn't too difficult, you end up teaching yourself in the end. The lectures are terribly boring and seem to go on forever just because of his monotone voice. It is difficult to stay awake. If you just want to pass the class I would recommend taking it with him, if you want to learn, find someone else.

He is a great guy, he likes to share stories about his turtles and time at camp. He begs for students to come to his office, almost takes offense if you don't. Reading the book before class is a big help. Always ask if there are questions, gives students a million and one ways to get an A. Will take again!!

Lectures are such a chore. He goes through slides so fast so don't plan on taking notes from them. He talks very slow and monotone to try not to nap. Loves turtles.

Subject is very interesting, and prof is very knowledgeable and passionate, however, class is very hard to understand as he speaks in a monotone voice. Not good at explaining concepts and questions on exams were never discussed. Would not recommend this class with this professor

Lectures are boring. Left class early as soon as I signed the attendance. Reads straight from powerpoints, but theres only so much you can do to teach a huge class. Was failing all semester but ended up acing the final by studying old exams, which he gives you along with the answers. If your final grade > exam average, he takes as your final grade.

Everyone on here needs to calm down. Yes, Rosenbaum is old and boring. But he gives students the opportunity to do well through his enormous curve. Not to mention he uses so many questions from old tests on current exams. Study hard and not only will you learn from his slideshows, but you will get an A!

Don't take Evolution with him..it's terrible. I worked harder in this course than probably any other course I've had in college between the 20+ page research paper and seminars and ended up with the worst grade I've ever gotten in a class after getting decent mid-semester grades. Avoid taking it with him if you can

Rosenbaum is straight forward. What is cool about his Genetics class is that he accepts what ever you get on the final as your semester grade if it is higher. There are 3 exams worth 60% of your grade and he takes the best two scores. And the other 40% is the final. He is looking to help his students, but you may fall asleep in lecture. Great Guy!

Stay away if possible, his grading is helpful but the amount of knowledge needed to do well on the tests is enormous. Paying attention is difficult in a big class because his monotone voice and how boring he can be.
