Dr. Z is an amazing General Chemistry teacher. His lectures are enjoyable, and he makes chemistry easily relatable through real life examples. There are no multiple choice questions on the tests, but you should be fine if you study. He made concepts easy to understand for everyone.

I found General Chemistry I to be quite easy. Zurbach is a great guy and is funny and a dynamic speaker. Never had to see him in office hours (because of the easy course) but I can imagine he would be great with it. Homework's are online and due about once a week or so. 3 tests and a final. If you do bad on a test, the final can cancel it out.

I took Dr Zurbach for Chemistry for the consumer and his class was extremely difficult, due to it being online I felt it was even for difficult. Be prepared to watch the same power point a lot.. Hard class...

Dr. Z is so funny and makes chem so much more relatable! He gives crazy examples and tells funny stories so that the concepts would stick in your head. The test are a little difficult but he'll curve them. if you read the chapters as he tells you and do your homework and you should be fine. I would take him again!

Dr. Zurbach is incredible! Definitely the best general chem professor here. He will curve exams and if you do better on the corresponding section of the final he will replace your test grade. He has a wonderful sense of humor and makes the class fun and exciting. He is so helpful outside of class if you ever need to go to him.

FUNNIEST teacher ever! He uses crazy examples to relate the material to real life. He doesn't rush to get all the material in, but takes his time so that we understand. Mastering Chem is graded on effort, not accuracy. Really great guy, he calls us on our crap, but in a really nice way. It's hard to hate him, he makes you wanna do well.

Dr. Z is the best chem teacher at SJU. He explains the material easily because he wants everyone to understand and he is outrageously funny. He tries to entertain the class while also teaching. The exams are really hard but if you study you should do fine. Going to the class is mandatory but he livens it up so it isn't such a drag.

Extremely funny and keeps the class interesting. Very clear if you stay awake (has many early classes). Posts all the slides online and the Mastering Chemistry homework isn't very hard. Tests can be difficult if you do not know the material well. Do not memorize things, but try to understand them and you will do fine.

Had him for chem for the consumer. Funny and definitely keeps class interesting but tests are SOO hard. You can study for hours and still do poorly. Take a different science if possible.

He is crazy, but in a good way. Tells weird stories that are funny in a strange way and he loves chemistry. Trys to keep your attention the whole time. His tests are really hard but he gives very little homework. He ended up curving both tests and the final even though he said he wouldn't. I would take him again.

He is a really nice guy and tries to keep your attention in class, but STAY AWAY if you are a business major. There is no textbook, only powerpoint slides and EVERYTHING is on the all fill in the blank tests with 100+ questions. There is little homework but the tests are HARD. If you're not into chem this class will totally screw your GPA!

Not the easiest class I ever taken. There is no text but the slides are informative enough. He does talk alot and it seems there is more on the test than he says will be but he does review like mad, is there for questions and uses the curve to help everyone. If you attend class, do the homework and not fall asleep you should be fine.

whoever said he is not a good professor didn't go or didn't pay attention. constantly reviews, his textbook is howstuffworks.com. Loves telling drugs and sex stories, hilarious, has made himself roll over on the floor laughing. Had during intersession and made staring at chem formulas bearable. Tells stories like you will be tested on them.

He only uses slides but when he explains them it is easy to understand. I'm terrible at all sciences but i understand this. He spends the time on everything so you get it. You do have to attend class but it's worth it. No real hw, 2 tests and a final. I would definitely recommend taking him.

Don't let Zurbach fool you. He comes off as a fun loving, goofy and easy going guy, which he might be...but that doesn't help you in his class. Uses no book so u have nothing to reference when studying. His slides are just facts with no explanations. Tests are unfair for the topics covered. Final decision: DON'T TAKE
