I had Petrack as my professor for both 2610 and 2620. He made the material so accessible that I am astounded to hear that people regard even the intro economics classes as difficult. OCC lost it's best professor when Petrack retired, and he will be missed.

Mike was the best prof. to teach economics at OCC. He will be missed by all. I will never forget him saying "you be good" at the end of each class to the students.

Petrack is amazing. I previously dropped econ w/ granthen and he made everything so clear. I am passionate about economics now. I am taking him Fall '09 for Econ 2620 and if you can you should too because he is retiring after that semester. He has a T.A., Allison who is also fantastic. Take Petrack, you won't be sorry.

Great guy, if you attend class, take notes, and do the assignments you will do well. I would not have understood economics if I hadn't have taken this class with him. Very little math, which is a plus!

People who don't like this guy or hate this class are either lazy or just don't like the subject. He gives crystal clear lectures, always offers extra credit, provides a 1 hour study group before each class, and knows the subject. He gives homework out about everyother class period, just pay attention, read, and take notes. I highly recommend him

His tests are not terribly. If you pay attention to the lecture and read the book you will do fine. He gives extra credit questions on all tests. The subject is a little boring, but he is open to discussions about current topics. Clearly enjoys the concepts of economics.

Boring is an understatement. This class was excrutiating. I don't understand why he's so well respected as a professor. Classes are always 3 hours and are painful to sit through. Petrack is a very tough grader and his tests are harder to pay attention to than his lectures. I recommend not taking this class, from him anyways...

Another reason OCC HL is so great! Not only are lectures interesting - he tells stories to make key points understandable. Optional study group is an amazing feature of this class. The incentive of study group is a higher grade. People respond to incentives!

He is great teacher, but he is also very unfair. His grading is not so hot. The tests are 80% of your grade along with 20% on assignments. If you don't do well on your test you are screwed.
