This is an extremely hard class if you don't study. He claims all the equations are on his sheet but they aren't. He knows what he is talking about and he is very easy to talk to but his lectures go about a million miles a minute. He stands infront of the board when he writes so you cant see anything by the time you can see the board your behind

Probably the only good Physics I professors at SPSU. His lectures are straight forward, but the class moves at a very fast pace itself. A lot of outside class time is needed to do well in this class. His tests are fairly difficult and the HW doesn't help much with the test, so study your notes from class and recording the lecture is recommended.

very hard class. Not so hard Prof. do all homework assignments and stay in class to get all examples. You would need to spend a lot of time studying for this class. So don't take with other classes that you need to spend time on. That was my mistake.he will answer questions in class but speeds through lesson and expects you to study on ur own.

pretty good teacher. test are extremely hard. homework is definitely an overkill. his methods are pretty siumple but he claims to give you a "formula sheet" that ABSOLUTELY ALL THE FORMULAS are on...lies. you have to remember the majority of them. then again physics is definitely not an easy class to begin with.

His class is very difficult. Do all the homework, it counts towards your test grade. The tests are hard! Some extremely difficult questions, then some easy ones that you might over think. Attendance is optional, but the notes and examples done in class are helpful when studying. He skips some steps in examples, but is open to questions. STILL HARD!

I've never met him in person, which is unfortunate. I took ECORE physics online. The teacher didn't exist for his students. He released the lessons and homeworks late, causing us to get behind in the class. He really screwed us up. Avoid him like the plague before you waste your precious time like I did. I've filed several complaints against him.

Great professor.... hard class!!! Physics is tough either way, but patterson teaches in a way that is understandable. Tests came form homework, classwork, and old tests (which he gives you access to) And if they come from the old tests they are straight from there!!! He gives you all tools to do well in the class... A is hard to attain, I got a B!

The guy was easy. He explains everything your doing and tells you to do your homework which isn't really hard for trig based physics. If you just do the homework you can pass the class with a B or higher.

Pretty hard, almost impossible to get an A. Tests are very tricky, and most average 120 to 130 on tests. Study hard for the tests and you'll get a B in the class. Labs help grade and are very easy. Most people get C's in the class, but it's not easy. Teacher is very nice and clear. You don't have to show up, but you'll miss out on a lot of notes

Not a really bad prof. but definitely not someone that will hold your hand and make sure your understand the material. Tells you exactly what you can expect on test or quizzes. However, homework probs. and class examples will not prepare you for the tests! Better allocate a lot of time and effort if you want to get an acceptable grade.

VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND. TEACHES LIKE EVERYONE ALREADY UNDERSTANDS THE MATERIAL AS WELL AS HE DOES. SKIPS TOO MANY STEPS WHEN DOING EQUATIONS. TAKE AS A LAST RESORT!!! SEEMED LIKE LABS WERE A WASTE OF HIS TIME.

Heard that Patterson was a good prof. he hurt the class big time with some irelivent ?'s on the test. He does not curve for anything. Study the previous tests but this semester his last 3 tests did not really follow what was on the previous tests. He puts ?'s that have nothing to do with anything u are studying or previously have studied onthe test

Great professor, just watch for curve-balls on his test. Some questions are extremely hard, then he'll hit you with an easy one you'll overthink. Best advice is that if the problem seems easy, it probably is. Make sure you do the homework.
