Makes you feel badly about asking questions. Not open to discussing grades. I knew a great deal of the material, but the tests, especially the final, were really difficult.

If you have a question, don't bother asking him. He will just say, "Well.. what don't you understand? Its straightforward." As an engineering student, I've had my fair share of bad professors, and he makes the list with awful lectures that don't teach you anything and homework problems on Webwork that make no sense.

I wish I've read the reviews before I took this section. Rude and condescending professor. Don't ever take classes with this guy. Aside from his annoying accent, his lectures are not very clear. He teaches like you're a grad student. I think he assumes you already know the material. Worst math teacher ever.

Professor Griffin is one of the worst professors I have ever had. He laughs in the faces of students that ask questions or don't understand the topics as soon as he teaches them.

Comment:
In all my years of grade school and college he is the least helpful, most rude professor/teacher I've ever known. He is visibly annoyed when you ask questions but without much reason, since he gets a lot of the questions wrong in class. There is not much good I could say about Professor Griffin other than maybe the fact that his accent is hilarious

Comment:
The only math class I REALLY struggled with, studied twice as hard as any other class and still couldn't grasp the material. I reached out to this professor for help and he was clearly irritated to have to help anyone, and explained material like he was talking to a colleague. I warn you not to take a class with him. Arrogant, bad professor, etc.

MAT 526 is a tough course which is determined by the content itself but not the professor who teaches it. But in this course, if you work for it, you can get a good grade at last. Professor Griffin is a good teacher, he speaks a little bit fast but very clearly. He gives 3 midterms. I strongly suggest preview the materials before every class!

Superbland in lectures, but if you copy the problems down exactly you can get by. Quizes in Recitation are easy, but tests and webworks are ridiculous.

He's not clear about anything. Given- if you know calculus from previous years you'll be okay (if you saved the notes) but otherwise he will completely lose you in all of his theories. Sigh.
