Good professor, exams can be challenging. I found that I needed multiple sources to complete the exams, textbook, class notes, and Google. The essays and labs were easy.

Good professor and an easy class overall. Some of the concepts were a little difficult to grasp, mostly the math, but his lecture notes helped a lot. Also, some of the resources were a little outdated (the textbook was from 2003), but they still helped in getting the job done. Tests were open book and we were given a week to work on them.

Super easy class. Used the book somewhat but resorted to other sources for info and answers. Book was written by instructor - not worth getting. He can be a harsh grader but just do the work and you will be fine. Print his lecture notes and emails he sends, helpful in exams.

Nothing's changed. Very difficult class. Professor grades extremely harshly. If you work and go to school and have a family do not take this class online. It takes a great deal of time to understand the material. This is not at all a intro level course. Avoid at all costs.

This was harsh for intro chemistry. I don't believe many students knew the concepts as a frequent advice giver on one internet forum I saw all test questions pop up the same week as the tests were given. No discussions, no chats. 2 page papers, tests, and a few labs. He grades very harshly. I would avoid the course if you can. The book was bad.

(online) 3 Papers (2 pages single spaced each, 3rd is a "what I learned.." deal) and 3 take home, week long, open book tests. No discussion group participation required. Seemed like an easy grader, chats weren't worth bothering with.

Took the online class. It was actually pretty interesting - and I thought it was going to be like watching paint dry. Unlike many profs, he is open to all questions and answers them quickly and cleary. If you take the class seriously, you will do very well. I actually developed an abiding interest in chem because of this class..and I'm in BLA

Be prepared to work. This is hardly an introductory class for non-majors as advertised. You will have learned about chemistry if you pass. Points are taken off for not having the correct amount of digits even with the right answer, a letter grade off for each day late, he cuts no-one any slack. Don't take this class unless you absolutely have to.

During an on-line course he was helpful and kept things interested. Not always an easy thing to do in that environment.
