Comment:

You will read and write a lot. For the online course, there were no formal exams. Just quizzes over one of the books and 4 papers which you will write using the other books. It will require time, but I learned a lot about leadership in healthcare and learned a lot about myself as well. I will definitely take him for other HADM courses.

Comment:

The class consists of quizzes, papers, and an extra credit assignment (DO IT!). You can expect the papers to end up being longer than what he estimates. For example, the 10-15 page paper will realistically be about 25 pages. It's not difficult, though. Just time consuming. There are 4 books to buy, but most are easy reads. I'd take him again!

I took Decker for 2 classes this past semester. The entire time I complained about how much work. And it is A LOT of work. You'll need to spend atleast 6-9 hours a week on his class. But, although he is repetitive, it was worth it. Once you get a hang of his grading, he is an easy A. He gives a lot of extra credit and that helps.

Ive taken 3 classes with him online and they were all great. (HADM 3311, 3322, and 4341)Hes very helpful and answers emails quickly. Lots of books and reading but easy A. Hes always helpful with questions and grades easy. Dont try to cheat he will catch you! He did to a student in the class. Come prepared to read! He does give extra credit :)

Dr. Decker is VERY unorganized. He has instructions to his course EVERYWHERE but they do no match up. The most upsetting part about his courses is he teaches out of a book he wrote. He's forcing the class to by his book and support his income. Also he is the most inconsistent grader I have ever had. Unfortunately, I would not recommend him.

DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. The extra credit is the only thing that pushed my average to an A by .8 of a point. The structure is pretty straight forward but the assignments can be tedious and expectations can be a bit dodgy. However, he is one of the few profs that actually cares about his students and textbook costs. Sends out a discount code for book.

I was struggling this semester due to work and rediculous amount of work in my Capstone class, he worked with me and took late assingments with minimal deductions. I would not have graduated without this help!! Fantastic textbook, all resources very useful and current. Thanks Professor Decker!!

I took Decker during an 8 week summer course. It was very easy. Since it was a short time period, it was time consuming, but simple assignments that were to the point. Weekly chap quizzes (easy) and no exams; just written assignments that I made As on. I got an A in the course. I'm taking him this semester for HADM 4341 and it's the same. Easy A.

Great Professor. Very knowledgeable about the healthcare industry. I got an A but it wasn't easy. Alot of reading. Quizzes 15 questions & 20 mins to finish. So read read. He answers questions promptly. Make sure the readings match the quizzes & if not let him know. I took the class online in the summer. Again lots of reading but I loved the class!

Great Professor! Very knowledgeable about the health care industry. I took the online class in the summer. Not an easy A. He always answers your questions.There are 15 questions & 20 mins to complete. Be sure you read read read. Also some students realized the assigned readings didn't match the quiz so just keep an eye out & let him know.

Took him for the summer. BIG mistake! Granted I did well in his class but a condensed course didn't mean condensed work. Plus his assignments have nothing to do with the book. Very nice guy but I would never take his classes again if I could help it or at least not in the summer.

Great professor overall willing to answer all questions and assist any student that asks. Known for his work as a consultant so you are getting a professor with a lot of outside knowledge. Decker is a very interesting lecturer. He is renowned and has lots of experience. He grades quite easy and if you have any questions or differing opinions he is open to discussing. I got an A. Awesome teacher!!

I took him during Spring 2010; web-assisted. ALL information on the course site, but it is in so many places (each time worded differently) that it becomes confusing. Not a difficult class, but A LOT of work. Attendance is not mandatory, but class meets 5/15 times. Each attendance gives you points on your final grade.

I took the summer online class. The work load was pretty high, 3 books, quizzes for every chapter, large paper due every week (some ranging from 5-15 pages). I worked REALLY hard and earned 100's on all my papers. Not sure if it's due to my hard work or if he grades easier during the semester.
