Dr. Benay is a knowledgeable individual but her personal views and biassed tendencies can severely hinder your ability to feel comfortable, or benefit, whatsoever from the course. She seems to be intimidated by naturally talented writers whom she attempts to smother with a relentless bombardment of B's. This is a useless course taught by a tyrant.

If you think you are a good writer, you will be proven wrong when you have Dr.Benay as a teacher. Her ITW class is HARD AS HELL!! She is a great woman, very strong and emotional with her teaching, but if you want an A then this class is not for you. Great woman though. I really liked Phyllis.. She was very helpful and very realistic at the same time. Her class isn't fluff, it's real. She made me a better writer and even though at times it was tough, I benefitted so much from her class.
