I am a Political Science major who hasn't taken math or science since high school, but I was able to get an A pretty easily. He also records every lecture and posts them online so you don't have to go to every class. Pierre is also very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He's a great professor and has a dope French accent too.

Comment:

I liked Dr. Lucas. Thermodynamics is a tough class no matter who the professor is, but Dr. Lucas was unique because he was very open to helping with homework in office hours. He is also passionate about the field, which helps. Go to office hours (even if you think you don't need to), and I would recommend buying the Atkins book as a supplement.

If you can get past the thick accent, Dr. Lucas is a very good teacher. He knows thermodynamics in and out and provides solid examples of problems and their applications. If you look online some of the homeworks are borrowed...

He teaches Thermodynamics for MSE department. He uses PowerPoint and recorded lectures, so no books. However, this can backfire. Some of the homework needs to be researched to solve sometimes. His tests are somewhat easy though. If you study, an A will be in your favor. Dried lectures and missed humor though.

Lucas' lectures are easy to follow and he posts all of them online. You don't have to purchase a book as he gives it to you in the form of a disk for $5. This class is really easy, just go over the power points before exams and you'll be fine. The final is pretty tough so study a lot for that one!

This is the perfect college course. The lectures run fast, but he covers everything with amazing detail. He knows what questions are going to be asked before they are. If you ever have a question, odds are the answer is on the next slide. Easy grades, and you will learn a lot. Really interesting material. He teaches so well he doesn't need homework

Man this was the EASIEST A I have ever gotten. I went to class once this semester, got 100/100 on lab reports, and just did nothing and ended up with an A. If youre all into actually learning then you wont find it too great, but for an easy A just study all the past tests and you are guarenteed to get an A. 85% and above is an A so its super easy

This class was a waste of time. You won't learn anything. You don't do well on tests by learning material,but by memorizing answers to previous tests that Lucas supplies. I can't believe my parents are paying for me to take this class. It is a complete joke and is a disgrace to the U of A engineering department.

if i could take this every semester just to get an A i would. I go to class once, maybe twice and still get good grades on tests. he gives you all of his past tests and lectures on a 4dollar cd instead of a textbook. would recommend this to anyone who wants an easy A. As are an 85 and up, Bs are 70 and up and so on. NO HOMEWORK except lab reports

Great class. Dont go to lectures and get A's on tests. One of the easiest classes I have ever taken and very interesting when I do go to class. Labs are very easy and laid back as well. Labs are only every other week at this point. Would highly recommend taking this over chem 152

You work hard to get a 65 on the tests. Other than that the class is set up to be an easy A, however you don't get an A. Extremely frustrating. But if you put in the effort I believe that this class is set up to be extremely easy.

Easy class but you will learn nothing. DO NOT wast your time going to lecture, you are better of by yourself in the library. TAs are from varies departments and don't know the material. Tests are awful! Material is easy but the correct answers will occasionally not appear and in some problems there are multiple correct answers -frustrating.

Awesome teacher. The tests are easy, the class is a bit boring. I skipped probably 70% of the lectures, and still had an A test average. Huge Curve. Above all, its really interesting subject material.

Interesting class. He just does power point lectures but for the subject it is effective. If you do the practices tests on the CD before each test you will do fine. I enjoyed the class, although it was common to see people sleeping in teh lecture.
