Comment:
I had Dr. Pinkerton for several classes btw 94-98. He was also my advisor. Yes he told stories. Yes he gave pop quizzes. However, I owe all I know about US gov't and politics to him. Much of the subject matter he taught was cold memorization (i.e. US Constitution)... if reading and notes wasn't your bag, then success was limited.

Absolutely worst teacher ever. I'm in his class right now! He started the class talking about the population of china and right now he's talking about how penguins mate. What that has to do with History idk. He needs to retire already.

Get the textbook and a map, you will need it. If you attend class you can do whatever you want because he will be off in his own little world teaching two, three, or four chapters behind the actual test content. Therefore, study from the textbook directly. Easy tests if you memorize. If you get an A you don't need to take the final.

you need to read the book if you want to pass the tests. lectures usually have nothing to do with readings... but if you go to him for help he will talk to you and help you. READ THE BOOK, test questions are almost word for word from book.

...im in his class now rating him. and like he talks about random things that dont make sense whatsoever. The only Coherent thing i hear from him is "Ya Understand?" and the class doesnt respond and he'll stare at you for 5 mins, almost siezure like.He shouldnt be using his "seniority" to try to steal class from other well deserving teachers.

Possibly the most 'stone age' professor I have ever had. He isn't a very nice professor either, very boring. He gives random quizzes based on the textbook assignments, usually the questions are based on the things you wont even think to memorize. I would highly recommend on choosing another professor. We started with 35ppl, 15 or more dropped.

he is very boring but not hard to pass. if you dont read the book or pass any of the quizzes you can still do well on his class. just pay attention to class notes not his crazy stories. and write good essays and this class will decent.

Just read the textbook, thats the trick to his class. People that complain about him are the ones that don't read the text book. REad it and you will do well, it is as simple as that. His lectures are irrelevant to the subject material, he's just trying to explain how a certain situation comes about. No notes needed

Worst professor ever!! do not take this class. he gives quizez every class that are on the atlas (which isn't on the midterm or final) and when he does give a text qiuz everyone fails!! he never talks about what your supposed to. The only way you should take this class is if you like reading over 30 pages of text a night and having a cenial teacher

I agree, this class was easy. He gives pop quizzes almost every class but they were atlas quizzes which help your average. he teaches directly out of the book, and his tests are from there. You don't need to listen to his lectures, just read the book while in class, saves tons of time

Very and very unpleasant professor, if not to say worse. He doesn't teach at all. He comes to class and talks about things not relating to the subject completely. Doesn't give any notes and gives extremely difficult exams. Doesn't treat you as a normal humanbeing, but like a soldier. Total disaster!
