Professor Dutkiewicz is an inspirational instructor who shares his wealth of knowledge and experience with students. Dutkiewicz provides a firm and objective understanding of Russia to those who are familiar and unfamiliar with the topic, and provides clear feedback for how to improve. Comment:

Pr. Dutkiewicz knows his topic inside out and always elucidates complicated but important processes, events in simple settings. Also, readings are easy if you grasp his ideas given during the seminars. He is always available and gives concise and clear feedback. Just study and grading will be the last thing you will worry.

I had him for GPOL 1500, and really enjoyed his class. The lectures can at times be slightly hard to follow, but it isn't difficult to pick up the thread again. He was always interesting, and the discussions in class were also good, when we had them.

This professor is one that has the experience and the mind to guide anyone in the Political field. His lectures are Ted Talk worthy and he always tries to tie lectures to current word problems. In my opinion if you want to learn and have an insightful experience then Professor Dutkiewicz is the person for the job.

He really knows what he is talking about. He is passionate about his field. The only problem is that he tends to add extra material which causes the lectures to be a little too long. His accent may be hard to understand at times but it adds to his interesting personality. I have a large amount of respect for him.

Professor Dutkiewicz was fun and interesting during lectures and facilitated discussion and debate very well. On a personal note he will undoubtedly be one of my favourite profs from my major if not my entire university career.

Piotr 's knowledge and experience is only rivaled by his commitment to the education of his students. Its rare to have a prof who isn't afraid to speak his mind, but also respects the opinions of his students (so do the readings and come to class prepared). Work hard and you ll learn a great deal from his courses. Slackers look elsewhere.

Comment:

He is quite possibly one of, if not the authority on Russian politics in the world. He makes you work for your grade and has a no BS, no political correctness approach. The depth of his knowledge on Russia is captivating. Travels a lot for research and consulting and is difficult to reach at times. He is well connected!

Had to complain to the department before he returned assignments/exams from the first semester ... other than that, fantastic prof. Director of the faculty and top Cdn. expert in his field. Every moment in lectures with him was fascinating and a pleasure. Great sense of humour and very humble.
