Not a good lecturer at all but I always recommend him because he gives very fair exams, and if you study, you will do well. All i did was the hw, and previous exam problems and made an A on every exam, which is pretty good for physics 2 at UF

Good: Nice guy, approachable, seems generally nice. Bad: difficult to understand, lecture start late and he rushes through material, if it wasnt for HITT points, I wouldnt have gone to lecture, exams were 15 Q's instead of 20 which can make exams more meaningful. Final exam: old exam problems changed more than told. I made an A.

Although his lectures went off tangent a bit, he is one of the more approachable professors at UF. Make sure to go to his office hours AND tea and cookies sessions, he is EXTREMELY helpful there more so than lectures. For exams, study previous exams, and at least come to his review sessions, he actually may give a hint as to what is on the exam!

Terrible lecturer. Awesome for his office hours/tea&cookies. If you are super confused like I am, he helps out A LOT. He's nervous in front of a lot of people, but not in small groups. Physics is hard for me and I get it so much more since I've gone to his office hours.

Professor Kumar was a great teacher. I admit, his lectures are pretty boring, but I took his class during the summer and aced it. The exams were made up of pratice exams problems verbatim and there were only a few that were new questions but were not too terribly difficult..I would definitely recommend :)

I feel that students who give Kumar bad ratings just hate physics, not just the professor. He may be hard to understand and mysterious but regardless he's really nice and understanding to student's needs. The class isn't bad if you go to lecture and discussion, do the homework, and do the old exams that post up and you should get atleast a B+.

Do everything possible to avoid having Kumar. He's not a mean teacher, he just should have retired long ago. Do not expect to learn anything in class, he wanders around and goes off on tangents. Several times he began problems and then abandoned them, never actually explaining them. He should be lecturing in a retirement home, not a university.

This professor is not your top choice. He loves to go off on tangents during lectures....His exams were very similar to the posted practice exams, some even exactly the same; however, some had nothing to do with what he taught. i highly advise people taking him to go to tutoring zone for this class, it got me an A. PS he does HITT every class

He's a really really nice man and really cares about his students. I have met with him on several occasions and he really wants you to learn. Why should it matter if he doesn't know how to use the powerpoint sometimes? Everyone makes mistakes. Overall he's an amazing teacher!

kumar is a very mysterious man. idk whats going on in that head of his (it may not be much). some of his lectures were decent(ish), but most were him going off on tangents (we talked about mythbusters for half the class one day). & tests weren't easy either, avoid if possible.

Professor Kumar is a very nice man, especially if you go to his office hours. This is where one can really get to know just how much he truly care about his students. His teaching style is a bit different, nevertheless with a bit of reading before class, one can fully grasp the concepts. GO TO OFFICE HOURS! I highly recommend him.

Horrible teacher! He just stands in front of the class and smirks at everyone...is not helpful at all..and is a real jerk. The first test average was very low and he told us it would be curved...and it never was. Take somone else!
