Not a good idea to take a class with this professor. The lectures are not presented well and for the most part you will be teaching yourself the course. Explanations are not clear and leave students confused. The course moves very quickly and speed is emphasized over clarity. Midterms are ok but the final was hard. Would not recommend.

I liked belkale because he was nice and he knew what he was talking about, but he talks into the board and goes very very quickly. Not only that, but he has a very thick accent and it's hard to catch everything he says. expect to teach yourself most of the class

He is an very bad lecturer and sometimes confuses himself. All the lectures come straight from the book and are not helpful. Be prepared to teach yourself the whole class. He is a nice guy but an awful teacher. Tests aren't very difficult but they're only 5 or 6 questions.

Prof Belkale is really nice. I didn't attend his class often but he replied emails fast and was helpful during office hours. Also he graded by percentage, like top 10% for A and another 10% for A-. He always said this class is challenging but I didn't feel so. The class is about basic logic and number theory, very fundamental for math majors.

Very strict grader. Exams are similar to homework assignments but he grades them very strictly and does not do a good job explaining why he took off points and is difficult to explain your answer to try and get partial credit. Lectures straight from book but didn't not explain well. Mainly self-taught myself everything.

He was a very kind teacher. He lectures straight from the book. He wasn't a very good lecturer, but he was very active in office hours. Office hours weren't the most helpful (due to the fact a lot of people came, and it was hard to get individual attention). His tests are fair and the homework is reasonable in length and difficulty.

This was not a hard class, but when I didn't understand concepts, he couldn't (or wouldn't) explain things in a different way so that I might understand, he just repeated himself. NOT HELPFUL. English wasn't first language, took awhile to get a hang of his accent. Lectures tended to be abstract, and difficult to follow (and I'm a math major). It's a requirement for my major, if it's not for yours...don't take it. And if you can avoid it...don't take him.
