Interesting course, even includes an optional class trip. Professor genuinely cares about course material. Lots of weekly reading of articles. The only thing you have in this class are 5 question quizzes on the readings. No midterm or final. Easy if you're willing to read small font, lengthy readings every week. Make friends.

Ferguson is a great professor that focuses on lectures and heavy reading. He takes attendance every class, but its alright to miss a couple times. Every week requires a 70-90 pg. reading that you need to do to pass his VERY short (5 questions each) quizzes each week. Easy class, but a lot of reading.

Every week you get a quiz 5 multiple choice questions. There is total of 12 of them, you can drop 2 of them. Overall pretty easy, no papers, no midterm, no final. Just do the readings and be in class. There is lots of readings for each quiz. I agree with other person around 70+ pages...

Great class and professor. Weekly quizzes that contain 5 mc questions. That's it! No papers to write, no midterms, final, just weekly quizzes. The class isn't hard the only hard part might be reading 70+ pages in 10pt font every week. Attendance is a must, the quiz contain questions from the lecture plus he'll dock down your grade if you're out

He is a great professor. I received an A and B+ on both of the courses I took with him. A lot of reading is necessary but other than that and taking notes in class, the class will be pretty easy.

Religious Perspectives. His ratings are excellent but for this class, I do not feel the same.. hear me out (I'm an ANTHRO major). This was a night class. His lecture style was not reinforcing material, more abstract. study what you read and listen extremely closely during the lectures to get. Exams: (3)Identifications, 1 final paper.

Not the first time taking him, his courses are challenging but you will learn alot. The 400 level course "war" is pretty crazy, be PREPARED to read your THICK textbooks (2 booklets) and yes you will finish every single page. 1 quiz/week based on reading, 2-3 essays, no midterm no final. Grades fairly on essays, show your own thinking & theory!

REALLY passionate about his subject & loves to talk about the yanomami (a south american tribe). class is mainly lectures but he tries to get discussions going. a lot of reading, but he mentions almost everything in his lectures anyway. if you're really not interested in cultural anthropology, bring a tape recorder cuz chances are youll fall asleep

He is a good guy, and I believe he does his best to not to be bias even when he is talking about debates he is heavily involved in. He does know what he is talking about, and he is a great teacher. As for talking about himself all I can say is that I don't think he does it because he is vain, but rather because he is infact involved in his feild.
