Very unclear. Does'nt specify what he wants. No study guides/help. I answered his test questions completly to how worded, he docked half points for not giving who what when where why and how. Said to handwrite the final, then said type if wanted. Then he took away points from my friend for typing b/c she could've plagarized the internet.

vague, unclear. So unclear I dropped the class after I saw some people turning in a midterm paper that was due that day that I and many others had no idea was due. Worthless.

I think he's pretty cool actually. He's got a strabge sense of humor but it's cool. I just started his class but yeah.

R. Jack is a character.I asked a few questions most everyday and he dubbed me the "troublemaker".Half the time he didn't know the answers.Don't be afraid of him, he just has a weird sense of humor. His lectures often get off point.I did the reading, the project and looked up some events in the book to get additional input for final for a 3.9

If you've got the time, go to his office and just talk to him. He can talk and talk. Just say, "Hey, I want to know something interesting, can you tell me something." He could say ANYTHING. Talk about yourself. Have him talk. He's cool. Class is a bit disorganized.

Nice guy but totally unclear on expectations. I think he'd be better teaching upper division classes; most of the people in my class were pretty lazy, which seemed to frustrate him to the point of apathy.

He is a weird guy, but has a lot of interesting insight. Don't be afraid of him but I would recommend keeping quiet in class lest you get a nickname.

Tests were very straight forward. Questions were taken directly from required reading. In most cases he lectured on events of the last 100 yrs, while the text covered more historical information. He was a little too vague on what he expected from the final project for my liking.

Speak up only a little. If you get through the class and you don't have a nickname that's a good thing. Most of the time in the class he jokes around, but not like regular people do, sometimes it's hard to catch that he's joking.

The class wasn't overly interesting because his lectures didn't capture my attention. He lectures from the book, but is very scattered and gets distracted/sidetracked easily. For tests, he marks off points because he wants students to come in and argue their grades with him.

I don't know why people are so negative. Test is from readings and lecture stories. Gave interesting insite to his background. KNow the basic info from book and write in detail on test, plus do a handson project = 4.0. Great Class!

Has interesting stories to tell, but tests are hard because you have no idea what's going to be on them, because his lectures on the reading material are vague. Very laid-back and easygoing, though!
