Need to show up to class but at least the specimen are interesting. He helps you out a lot when in need and will explain multiple times if anyone needs you to! Great professor. Took him for two courses and just thought he was great!

He was a great professor took him for Earth Science Senior Sem. class. Although i really think it should have been on online course and meeting was not necessary, he made it a must to attend and repeat what he had said in previous classes over and over again. Sweet professor I would recommend taking him ;-)

A tale of luck. One day, almost 30 years ago, I walked into the department and met this crazy geology professor who became my advisor and made me the scientist I am to this very day. Thanks, Dr. Metz. I am glad to see you're still doing what you are so good at. Learn from this man, kids.

great professor! tells u exactly whats going to be on the tests. please take notes, come to class & ask questions. his lectures are very boring & he LOVES to talk. he tries to make corny jokes, but their funny to hear. (dont really need textbook)

He's a very nice guy who loves the subject matter he teaches. He's got a very funny dry sense of humor. His tests come right from the notes he puts on the board and the labs you do. He does, however, like to talk and kind of puts you to sleep during his lectures. Definatly take him though, hes the man!

He definately loves what he teachers and it shows. He totally knows how to make an introductory class a INTRODUCTORY class....which a lot of professors do not know how to do. study the class notes and the tests are exactly that

It's true about the "just listen" and "write this down" stuff that he says. I honestly wasn't thrilled about this class and I am currently taking him now. He makes the subject interesting and makes you think! He knows exactly what he is talking about and is willing to help you in any way. He makes some funny jokes too! I recommend him.
