Comment:

Scott Yarbrough was the most amazing English teacher that I had ever had. He has a way of getting all the information that you need to know across in an amusing and highly entertaining way. I wouldn't skip his class even if I was sick.

This guy should be given a medal for teaching English to us mere mortals like us. I was skeptical, thinking no teacher could be THAT good. But he's THAT good. I could write an essay on how amazing he is. He's friendly, hilarious, relatable, and wants you to pass, he's in your favor and loves his students. Take this class, I'm begging you!

Best professor ever. 3rd class of his Ive taken and I have loved every minute of it. He is so amazing at teaching. You should show up every class because of daily quiz. Hell let you know when theyll be. No homework ever outside of class & 1 research paper due day of final. You will definitely look forward to every class because theyre so fun!!

I took Professor Yarborough in the summer of 2013 after a year at Texas Tech University. I came to Collin to take a summer class and really dreaded it. Yarborough changed the way I feel about Collin and the way I see English. I got a Bachelor's from Texas Tech and a Master's from Arizona State, but he's by far one of my favorite professors ever.

You can never get enough of him. He is such a gem. He wants you to totally understand the content and goes to any extreme to provide the best teaching methods. It is fun to be a part of his class. As far as textbooks are concerned, he wants to make the texts easily accessible rather than assigning a costly book.

Took his honors Creative Writing I class. I didnt know that the class was poetry, so I almost dropped the course. Thankfully, Professor Yarbrough convinced me to stay! Now Im considering an MA and an FMA! Seriously, take his class!!

Second time taking this professor & will be again next semester. He's amazing & hilarious!! Loved this class! All work & reading is done in class, accept the 1 paper you will turn in at day of final. Fun readings & easy quizzes at end, just pay attention & pass! It's definitely not difficult to pay attention.

A master! I have laughed so much in his class. I managed to understand literature through him. I recommend everyone to take him this is a college moment to truly treasure. Never a dull moment. He cares about his students and wants them all to succeed. One of the best professors I have had. This is one of the best times of my life in his classes.

I took him over the may-mester a couple semesters back and looking back on it, he is the best professor EVER. He genuinely cares about his students and makes his lectures so interesting to come to. I enjoyed every lecture and life story he told. I low key wish I wouldve taken him over the fall because I had enjoyed the class so much.

When you take one of his courses, it doesn't really feel like you're in a college class... it feels more like a professional stand-up comedy skit. He is the funniest professor I have taken, and by far the most laid back too. Expect to do a lot of reading, as you will probably read more poetry rather than write papers. Don't hesitate to take him!

Alright someone needs to give this man an award. How he actually made me WANT to go to an English class was amazing. He has the most genuine soul and cares about his students greatly. Extraordinary professor and great, hilarious person overall! He will not waste your time with nonsense. He will get straight to the point, teach only what you need to know, and will guide you to understanding the material. Not many grades, but there will be a handful of essays to write. Despite this, though, he's very lenient in his grading.

Prof Yarbrough was hands down one of the best English professors I've ever had. We had 3 papers due, and the first was in-class. He allows for in-class work and gives ample time to complete the papers. Frequently ends class early! Gives lots of encouragement and ideas, but just generally an awesome and super friendly professor.

Professor Yarbrough is the best human being I have ever met. He is extremely understanding of prior class engagements such as family matters and jobs. It would be harder to fail his class than get an A. I left his class with so much more than a grade, but an improved vision of the world and people around me. There is also minimal homework.
