Comment:

Professor Wilson is a great guy, who truly just does not care about teaching the introductory level classes. Do not take the intro to environmental science with him or you will want to drop the ES major/minor. Lectures are extremely boring, and he is a tough grader and takes silly points off for no reason.

Comment:

One of the most down to earth and affable people whom I have ever met. He truly grasps the broad scope yet understands the fine details of environmental issues, far and wide. I personally, love spending time with him; he gives environmental studies some character. Will caution that if you are not passionate about the env. you will find class boring

Randy was a good guy who genuinely cares about the subject matter and the success of his students. Although he's demanding, I would definitely recommend Environmental Policy as you'll learn a lot through his expertise on public lands.

Prof. Wilson is definitely different. Overall a pretty tough grader, but he really knows his stuff. Lectures are extensive and BEYOND boring. Hes rather unorganized and loses track of time. Class really has no certain track or flow. Hes actually rather funny, but its more a cheesy funny. Great guy but not one of my favorite professors at all.

Randy is full of knowledge, you just have to ask the right questions. If you're interested in National Parks, take a class with Randy and he will tell you more than you ever thought you could know. There is a lot of reading and short papers, but most of the class is discussion based and not too hard. Overall, a very interesting man to learn from.

Randy is a nice guy and he says the weirdest things, many of which are funny. But "space cadet" is definitely a good description. Terrible time management, distracted easily, just doesn't get it. Not a good professor by any standards. Quizzes unfair, picks random minute details. Tests unfair, all short-answer, only his EXACT answer for full credit.

class was a little hard-beginning is boring and computer based labs-field trips great! and interesting-DONT drive in Randy's van though-you'll get killed-quizzes every class and difficult--lots of long and difficult labs in the beginning but get easier--tests hard but all based on notes directly-overall ok class

Randy is a space cadet... he's WAY out there! But he's a really nice guy and the class is pretty easy. He doesn't give you enough time to write papers and often assigns group projects over breaks. Tests are very easy and often curved. There is a small quiz every day.

Randy is such a dork...he loves his subject, and knows he can go a little overboard on the lectures sometimes. Lab is frustrating at times since he goes really fast, and receiving your graded papers can be a bit disheartening, but he's a very helpful guy if you make sure to study and do the work. Regurgitate on tests to get full credit.

Most absent-minded prof you'll ever have, but also one of the nicest. He really cares about his students, but is an extremely tough grader; you can learn all the material and spit it back out at him and he still won't give full credit because it's against his religion. Tends to drone on in class, but really knows what he's talking about.

goofiest guy ever. he accidentally ran over a cone in the road on a field trip once. really nice, friendly, understanding, and helpful. really in love with the environment - to the point of being a little annoying at times. good guy - horrible at grading and returning things quickly though.

incredibly vague teaching style. you never know what he wants/expects for assignments. you will have a quiz every week on the assigned reading, so...do it! really boring class, and professor doesn't seem to like students who aren't ES majors.
