Comment:
Ranjan has at least one hundred slides per lecture but he tries to make class fun and encourages questions. He prides himself on making all the slides himself and they are actually quite helpful. If you study what he tells you, you will be fine. No homework, only weekly quizzes and midterm and final so study hard!

Terrible terrible terrible teacher,300 slides per chapter??? why? his slides confuse everyone, I bet if he reads his slides he won't understand anything. My advice, just do the problems at the end of chapters and you will pass with easy A. And try to avoid him, I don't know why Wayne State have those type of teachers.

Dr. DMello is a great instructor, he gives you all that you will need to understand the the work. Lots of slides but the slides are better than the book and easier to understand.

I am surprised to see other reviews so low. Professor D'Mello is extremely fair. The class consists of online homework, midterm and final exam. He is very transparent about the exams. Show up, pay attention and do the end of chapter problem sets as practice/studying if you want an easy A. Lecture is long but not his fault its a 3.5 hour class.

This class has a lot of content covered in a short period of time so make sure you go to class/watch lectures. The exams are tough, but D'mello is a fair grader if you demonstrate you understand the concepts taught in class.

A lot of people complain about BA 7020 being tough, but it is a very fair class in my opinion. As someone with zero finance background, I was able to listen to the lectures, understand the problems in the lectures, and ace the course. I never once used the text book (should have never bought it). Work hard and this should be an easy A.

One of the hardest classes I have taken. Lectures are extremely long and slow. So much material to read and study. Exams are 3 hours long.

Yes 3h lectures as written before, yes to the 300+ slides, but you learn a lot and in detail. The exams are very doable when you study. Did online and would prefer that as I can rewind and watch again as some concepts are difficult. Mid-term, final and 5 group cases. I put a lot of work in it but it paid of and so will it for you

His teaching method is backwards, 17 ways to solve when really you only need to know 1. His slides have way too much information without explanation and he goes way faster than the average person can learn. I had a tutor for this class because i would not have grasped a single concept without them. This class could be easy, if taught well.

Summer session is tough due to the amount of material covered in the short time allowed. Dr.D'Mello is thorough in his presentation of the material and encourages questions. Don't miss class!! Hard to catch up with the amount of information given each class. Do the questions at the end of each chapter and you should be fine

The condensed summer course is very challenging as this class covers a lot of material.I was intimidated by the lengthy presentations for the chapters but used them to my advantage while studying for the exams. This is a MBA class, stop complaining, suck it up, and put in the work needed. Don't blame D'Mello for your laziness.

Get ready for hundreds of slides and a 3+ hour midterm and final. Some students are slick and get old exams. Others are in tough luck. The professor doesn't care about how well you understand the material. His examples are trivial but exams are LONG and detailed. Expect to be asked about every single concept on the exam.

300 power point slides at the MBA level is beyond nonsense he has taken an easy and fun course and turned into into torture. You will sleep during his lectures which last the whole class and he is extremely difficult on his exams. You have no time to study and do group projects and practice homework. University needs to have a sit down with him

Professor D'Mello without a doubt is a smart individual. However, he does not "teach" the material, just lectures. A minimum of 200+ slides per class. He encourages questions, but makes clear as the class progresses he is irritated by them. Test are difficult, long, and cover all class material without a study guide offered. Do not recommend.

Everyone rating harsh probably did not put in the work for this teacher. I did not crack thebook and have no finance experience and aced both tests. Why? Because I studied to the MAX. He literally reads the slides and has long lectures and tests so it is boring. You need to thoroughly understand the material, it is not an easy A. There to help you.

I urge students to avoid this professor. His lectures ran the entire scheduled time and he read every slide verbatim. I normally don't have a problem with this, but the slide count averaged about 250-400 slides (PER CLASS).

I'm lost for words on this one. Are you prepared to watch a professor read 350 slides per lecture? Are you prepared to fail a midterm and exam after studying for weeks? If yes to the following, D'mello is for you! You mine as well stay home and read the textbook. Even the textbook will not prepare you for his exam ladies and gentleman. Good luck...

Expects students to do well on 3 hour exams that are based off 6-7 chapters with 200 slides each & no review. This was tall task for MBA students who are already time crunched as is. The material is actually related to real world financial scenarios but with a prof teaching it like him, it results in a huge mess. Not taking another class with him!

The average for the Midterm and the final combined was about a 65%. This professor makes this class harder than it needs to be. He doesn't do anything to help the students in regards to guidance for tests. His expectation is that you see a problem and are able to come up with the equation/answer quickly &correctly. Almost no one finishes the tests.

Professor D'Mello isn't a good teacher if you don't know finance. Does not clarify well or prepare well for lecture. His lecture slides are crowded and confusing. He does his best with the English language but it can create issues when he tries to clarify things. Says he will tailor the lecture speed to students but does not. Doesn't like questions
