There is a ton of reading each week, which is required because you have to write sentence summaries and paragraphs about them. The grading on the sentence summaries is harsh, but you can easily increase your grade by participating frequently. Professor Dighe is a very educated man, the class is just tough.

First when I took this class I saw the work load and considered dropping; the first couple of weeks into class I realized how much he was improving on my writing skills. Lots of reading about 2-4 hours a week. With weekly sentence summaries with weekly 300 word prep papers on readings. 1 Research paper & 2 tests. Great insight on american econ/his

At first I hated him and thought he was just trying to make the class miserable. But this guy grew on me. Somewhere during his lectures I had the realization of just how smart this guy is, and how much material you can learn in just one lecture. He's absolutely brilliant, and a nice guy despite his somewhat intimidating character. YOU WILL LEARN.

I really enjoyed taking this class. While the class was challenging, he gave all the tools needed to do well in the class. The problem sets he gives are extremely helpful study tools for the tests. There are 3 cumulative tests and if you score better on one, he replaces your grade with it. Really helpful and a great professor. Highly recommend

His classes aren't easy A's, but he is a wonderful teacher that can teach from memory because he is so knowledgeable about his topics. He brings a contagious enthusiasm to his classes. On the major exams he has short answer questions and a couple of short essay questions. Not easy, but he is a very fair grader for these tests.

This guy will be a nightmare if you don't want to constantly participate in discussion and do the abnormally large readings, multiple of them, daily. He has no mercy when it comes to grading even the simplest assignments. Bottom line if you have hours a day to devote to this course you will probably do well and learn an awful alot. Avoid otherwise.

Prof. Dighe is a very knowledgable professor. He knows what he's talking about and is very passionate about what he does. Gives extra credit to students who participate in class discussions. Has a great grading policy and gives lots of chances to raise your grade (problem sets, online reading responses, etc.). Highly recommend.

He is a great professor. Problem sets every week and three tests overall. Clickers every class so mandatory attendance. He writes his own notes which are awesome and very clear. Easier of the economic classes I've taken. He is great!

Very knowledgable and enthusiastic; can put difficult concepts in layman terms. HW due every couple classes, he cares deeply about formatting, grammar, and overall appearance of HW. Exams (4 total) are moderately difficult, but higher grades on later exams replace previous lower grades on exams. Loves Ben Bernake and Paul Krugman a little too much.

Not an easy class but if you put the work in you will be alright. Requires weekly readings and discussion posts as well as a one sentence summary of each reading. Class consists of lecture and discussion. There is also one paper, one test and an optional final. Dighe is willing to help out and his lectures can be interesting.

Really interesting class, but some of the textbooks are quite dry, which is expected in economics. The test are forgiving because if you bomb one, the next one will replace it if you do better. The test are all based on the notes which are posted online.

This course is no easy A, but the professor is extremely helpful as long as you try. He makes the course somewhat interesting and is very intelligent. If you do all the readings and assignments, you will get a decent grade.

If you are not interested in baseball then this will be a very boring class. You must buy all the books and do all the readings to have any clue of whats on the quizzes. Almost every class there is a quiz on the readings, online posts to do, three tests. Very specific questions on quizzes and tests, more of a history class than economics.

The comments on here are hilarious. He's too hard! He makes me do the reading! He makes me staple my papers! Seriously? Professor Dighe was my single favorite professor at Oswego. Yes, you actually had to do the reading, if you don't like that, maybe college isn't for you. He does his best to make the course interesting and is always accessible.

About two hours of work each week (readings and writing response papers). The research paper is SO hard. A very critical grader on all assignments. With the extra credit, you can get an A in the class. Be sure to get the research paper done early, he will tear it apart otherwise. Interesting class overall, lots of discussions!

This class is a designed senior slacker class. Three tests are 75% of grade, grades for these replace poorer scores (if you get a 100 on the final, all three tests become 100). Really interested in the course material, lectures were extremely interesting. ZERO work involved in this class, just show up.

hes definitely a nice guy but this class is A LOT of work, so be prepared to spend a lot more time on this class than others. its about 2 or 3 hours of reading per week and then you write a paper about the readings.

Not easiest class, especially if you don't know micro, don't think because you are a baseball buff you'll do fine, decent amount of basic micro. Takes attendance every day. Kind of a jerk about talking, cell phones etc. And if you don't like baseball or econ class is REALLY boring. Take if you need it, otherwise don't take it with him.
