Overall good class. There was a weekly written assignment based off of the reading material. Total 3 or 4 additional papers. Class was not hard, just time consuming. Make sure you don't get behind on the reading. Also, instead of purchasing the books, check with the local library for free first. :) This class is also required for BOL/BLS degrees.

He is a great teacher. Knows exactly what he is talking about when it comes to South Carolina history and current events. He requires a lot of reading, in-class discussions, class participation, etc. I would recommend him if you need this for the BLS or BOL programs.

HE IS AMAZING!!! if you are not an english person at all, he is the best teacher! he admits that he is a push-over when it comes to deadlines. you will always laugh in class. I also had him in 102. I made a B in 101 and an A in 102. a really easy teacher and amazing person as well!

Sometimes it can be unclear what he wants in his papers. Ask him to clear things up and he will be very helpful. It's not too hard to pull at least a B on your papers. Class can be pretty boring and sometimes in his lectures he goes on and on about things that seem to have anything to do with English. Overall, he's worth taking.

Mr. Jones is an awesome guy. He's very lenient on deadlines as long as you ask him for an extension. We did a semester long research paper that was split up into different assignments. He's an awesome guy and I would highly recommend you take his class.

Genuinely nice guy. Extremely chatty though. Pretty easy on deadlines if you talk to him. Only 2 papers & 1 final paper. Read the books...he likes to discuss them & gives quizzes when he thinks no one's read.

He is a good teacher. One of the most interesting teacher. No quizzes if everyone brings the books. Not to strict on deadlines if you have an excuse. Office hours helpful. Lecture interesting, talks a lot though. Can be vague sometimes.

Overall I would say that Mr. Jones is an okay teacher. He tries his best to engage students into discussion. He is very lenient when it comes to extensions on papers. You only have 4 papers including the final. Sometimes I found it a little hard to figure out what he wanted in papers but just go to his office hours and he will help.

Mr. Jones is a great guy. Unfortunately, his class isn't that great. The stories and poems we read are mundane and uninteresting and the papers he assigns are incomprehensible. The prompts he provides for the papers make it impossible to figure out what he expects in order to get an A. Also, he did not have graded papers back until middle of semest

Nice guy. He knows what he's talking about, but I think he's a little stressed about covering everything we've read in a specified time. He talks really fast and his handwriting is awful. I did learn from him and he was always willing to help if you needed it. Overall, good class.
