Comment:

Rarely went to class but the times I did go his mic was always messed up and only first 2 rows could understand him. Funny guy but went off on too many side tangents. The midterm and final is literally memorizing diagrams on his slides. Gave us 15 points extra points on midterm and final since average was in 50's. No curve except that. MEMORIZE!!

I like Dr. Z as a person but not as a professor. Your final grade is determined by only ten questions that are very specific to a topic so you can have a pretty good understanding of the course material and still not pass because you missed 3 questions. Class is not curved. Hes really hard to hear so sit in the front because lecture is important.

Tries to make lectures fun. Grade based on 10 free response Qs. not available besides set office hours. doesn't respond to emails with detail to answer Qs. can't hear even after he adjusts equipment & even if record is hard to hear still. hires grader & got marked off for something he specified didn't need to write on exam but he wouldnt review/fix

His exams are all FRQ, make sure you memorize all of the slides and the sample questions he gives you. On the midterm, 2-3 questions are usually word-for-word as the ones in the sample. On the final, 3-4 are word-for-word as the ones in the sample. He has an accent, so it might be difficult to understand him, but DO PAY ATTENTION.

His lectures slides are very unorganized and not very clear. He tends to go off tangent A LOT and talks about random things. Sometimes you can't even hear or understand him. His exams are extremely difficult. You basically have to memorize all the slides in his powerpoint.

This class consists of 4 free response questions for the midterm, and 6 free response for the final. Some of the questions were exactly the same as his study guide, but 2 of them were always different, leaving you to possible fail the class because there is no curve. NOT AN EASY CLASS AT ALL.... I would highly suggest you don't take it

Class is not curved, so missing one whole question is a letter grade dropped. There are only 6 question for the final and 4 question for the midterm. All essay questions. This means you can know most of the material, and still not pass the class. A few practice question were verbatim on the test, but most weren't. Answers on the test require DETAIL

This guy is just awesome. He is by far the easiest professor I ever had. He is very straight forward when it comes to exams and notes. He plays the random-est videos at the start of the class and most of his examples, that are relevant to the topic, are about alcohol. Take him as a professor for this class and you will pass.

Immunology was a lot like his bio5a lectures. Lots of tangent stories and silliness. But in this class it was more straight forward and he tells you what will/won't be on the midterm. 100% memorization for immunology. I suggest getting a cheap/free version of the book. Lectures are unclear.

Dr. Z is a very funny professor but he gets off topic ALOT! wastes a lot of class time but his midterm is very easy. He makes the class more interesting but expect to do a lot of self studying if you want to do well in this class!

His accent is a little hard to understand so pay attention during lecture. His midterm is ok as long as you study but its hard to ace it. He puts the material on powerpoint slides so you can use those as study material. I recommend this professor.

The sickest bio prof. at UCR! His lecture is pretty decent but its hard to understand him becuase of his accent. Really good prof. He doesnt bored you to death with this lecture because of his jokes and Random music video before class.

I thouroughly enjoyed Dr. Z's portion lectures on Cell Biology.His "alcohol" jokes made the lecture much more interesting.Reading the lecture notes helped me for the first midterm(which Dr. Z wrote).I'll always remember how he played Youtube videos before class started. I'll have Maduro for Genetics next, lets see how that works out. Take Dr. Z!!!

He jokes around a lot. A little too much which makes you rethink if you should go to class. He is one of the easier bio prof, but you still need to read the book. Definitely a nice curve. You can pass with at least a C by just going to lecture and cracking the book open a couple times. Not hardcore studying, but at least some studying.

hes such a funny teacher. he puts on random videos at the begining of each class. he's a good teacher makes you want to go to class just to hear his jokes but you learn alot if you go to class. he puts everything in his slides and if you study his midterm practices and understand them youll do good on his exams!
