A lot of homework (two problems due every class). Tough grader, but outlines what he wants. Get on his good side. Ask good questions. Do you work neatly. Follow his commandments, he will penalize without mercy if you don't.

Pfeiffer is a very unique teacher. I have learned more from his class than I have from most others, however he is an extremely tough grader. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am looking forward to taking classes with him again in the future.

Dr. Pfeiffer has a very particular way of grading assignments and giving tests. He seems unapproachable, but he is not at all, he's so helpful. As long as you utilize the study guides and follow directions for labs, it shouldn't be too hard. Also, don't wait until the last minute to study. (A lot of studying is necessary.)

He can make class very difficult if you're not prepared for his particular ways. But he's awesome. Go to his office hours.

He is like a Grandpa. People say he is awful but if you just go to office hours and talk to him he is really a great professor. He is willing to help with whatever questions you have, and you will have a lot. You have to study harder than any other class but it isn't too bad.

Pr.Pfeiffer is very special. As somebody said before, if you are trying to fill the 100-course science requirement- give it up. There were 50+people at the beginning of the class, and 40+ at the end. I have tried so hard for this class, because i like astronomy overall, but it is not worth it. If you are like me, just buy the book it is awesome!!

First off, Pfeiffer is definitely a good guy. But for those trying to fill their science req, this is NOT for you. Class is extremely hard. 67 median test score was seen as high in his eyes. Several students dropped and there is certainly no need to risk your GPA on a 100-level class. Harder than my 400 level major classes.

Dr. Pfeiffer is a very smart professor. The class requires a lot of studying and work on your part, but if you do this, he will give out "extra credit" plus he tends to favor those who participate. He is available for help and assignments are due during that day, but if you forget it, just bring it to him before he leaves for the day.

Pfeiffer is a pretty nice guy. Like others have said, he is very much like Mr. Rogers. The class though is moderately difficult (I had him for Astronomy). All the notes are online, at least for my class, but the tests were pretty difficult and there is a lot of information to remember. He knows what he is talking about. I'd recommend him.

Pfeiffer is one of the smartest men i have ever met and it shows in his class. I have never studied more in my life than for his tests. The content is alot of memorization and its not impossible to do well. He is very Mr. Rogers-esque.

Pfeiffer is a nice guy in a Mr. Rogers sort of way. I had him for AST161 - hard, but not impossible if you try. At worst he's a little soporific; his voice is low and kind of hypnotic, and the lights are off in the room alot, so it was difficult sometimes to stay awake and alert. But he teaches well and is willing to answer any questions.

The man has no understanding of basic physics equations. Principles yes, equations no. But, you have to memorize almost every equation (and there are a lot of them). If he doesn't have the problem already done, he will not do the problem lots of work

This was the hardest class I have ever taken in my life, but it is also the one course in my college career that really challenged me. Besides learning Astronomy, I learned what I was really capable of. Thanks Dr. Pfieffer.
