I'd have liked him to be a bit more helpful, but honestly by taking his lecture class right off the bat as a first-year was a bit overwhelming. He's a great teacher, even if I didn't do all that well.

Ray rocks. I was at SLC when Bush stole the 2000 election, and Ray stayed in the Pub the ENTIRE night lecturing along with the TV reportage, giving historical insight, constitutional insight etc. into that unprecedented debacle. It was sooo 60s teach-in.

I took his class in '97 so he's prob changed. Be warned, he's testy. Don't criticize the class. Also, when work piles up, the way to explain it is personal family troubles so he'll be sympathetic. I saw another use this, while I got grilled for just not enjoying the class - not getting into the readings, and falling behind.
