I loved Stein! I had heard that financial accting was hard, so I was nervous going into the course. He made this course much more approachable. Gave a 10 point curve on exam 1. We had 2 midterms and a 40%, cumulative final. Homework was worth 20% and it was fairly easy to get close to full credit. Exams were straightforward. Hope to have him again!

Cool guy, but accounting is a boring subject so don't expect to be entertained just by his humor. Exams are pretty straight-forward multiple choice, but it's kinda hard to translate the stuff you do in class and in homework to the exams. Not sure if there's a curve. You get homework like every week, it's not hard. Would recommend the textbook

I minored in entrepreneurship and I enjoyed every course except this one. His tests are incredibly hard and he's one of those idiot professors who makes the questions more difficult by wording questions in stupid ways. If you ask him for help, he'll act caring and won't offer any. Lectures are also boring. Good luck with him you'll need it.

This class is very applicable to life which i enjoyed. With that being said it is not the easiest class. Stein is on top of his work and has a methodical teaching method which he adds in some of his subtle humor. I failed every test that was given, but i stayed with it and even failed the final. The final grade was curved so.. your boy got a C ;-)

I'm taking him for Accounting for Entrepreneurs and Small Business. Stein is smart and a good teacher. He emphasizes understanding over memorizing. He picks on people to answer questions but adds humor and tries not to embarrass anyone. He is very methodical in his teaching and how he structures the course. I'd recommend him.

took intro financial accounting with him over the winter. really nice guy. pretty dull sense of humor but he explains accounting concepts really well. he chooses hw problems to come close to the exams. Everyone dreads financial accounting but i really think this guy is one of the better people you'll get for that class

Graded fairly, go to class do the online hw it helps a lot. test questions are usually just hw questions with different numbers. He is extremely thorough and if you have a question don't be afraid to ask he is very helpful explaining things students don't understand. I would take him again.

I really liked prof. Stein. He explains very well and grades fairly. Although he doesn't check attendance or hw, you should go to class & do your homework if you want to do well in his accounting class. Highly recommended. I would take him again if I could

Accounting is a very difficult subject but professor stein does the best at making it clear. Read the chapter before class, do all the homework for when he goes over it in class, and you will do okay. Do not fall behind or show up without the homework done because you will not understand it. This subject takes effort no matter who teaches it.

class is extremely boring he just reads the book to you usually a waste of time because no one follows and he tries to cram every chapter into a class period. the tests are extremely difficult and obviously based off the book since he reads it to you in class. It is extremely fair but that usually does not work to your advantage. there is no curve

I felt that Professor Stein was very helpful. I had class with several others taking accounting with different professors and they were miserable. His test were fair and challenging. Its hit or miss since there were 2 exams and one final and all were multiple choice. Take him and you wont regret it!

Dry sense of humor (nobody laughs at his jokes). Boring. He's very helpful though. He's not tough, its the departments policy to only give out As to 10-12% of the class. Curves are nice. But key to doing well in this class is studying HARD. READ THE BOOK and know the concepts BY HEART!
