Dr Erickson is scary at first but she is a really good teacher. This class is very intense and she expects a lot. She doesnt require a book but has a lot of readings on brightspace. Her lectures are awesome and all you really have to do id listen in class and you will be fine. she gives alot of extra credit too. i love her she is an awesome prof

Comment:

This class requires a lot of effort. The reading material is not easy to understand and there is a lot of it. She is a difficult grader as well so you MUST read and study. There are also 2 papers which take a lot of time and thinking. However, Erickson explains the readings and concepts well. Go to class, take notes, study and you'll pass.

Took her online Soc class. SO much reading. You have a test every Friday and if you don't really read all the material you wont do well on the tests. She is an extremely hard grader. The only thing I ever got a 100% on was the discussion post. Ready to help with any questions. She gives a lot of extra credit it literally saved my grade.

the class was very hard material but if you show up you will do fine. take notes! she explains everything the best ways possible, she's very helpful and so genuine and nice. if you ever need anything just ask her, she'll gladly help. if you don't go to class, you will not pass! do your work!

Hardest class I've taken in my life. I was a psych major, thinking I was taking a simple class to finish up my minor--boy was I wrong. I didn't sleep a lot and really worked to finish the readings, wrote over 100 pages in assignments and tests. In the end, I changed majors and now I'm doing research with her. This prof gets you your money's worth.

One of my favorite classes! Sit up front, take notes, and you'll be great! You're only assigned 2 papers through the semester. If you read what you're supposed to the course will be NO trouble at all! And Rebecca is so nice and very helpful, just show her you care! I would definitely take another class with her!

This was by far one of the most difficult courses I've taken at Akron. Not saying Prof Erickson was a terrible professor, because she was certainly one of the best I've had delivering content and such, but it's truly not worth it when you can take Sociological Theory with a different professor, do half as much work and get a better grade.

Great professor. Made the class interesting and fun. Tests are pretty thorough but not tricks, as long as you study you will do well. Only homework is reading a couple papers. Would take her class again.

I learned A LOT in this class. The people who left harsh comments were prob. too lazy to do the reading- there is a ton of it. If you're a soc maj. you should want to read this stuff, though. Becky's really well informed and excellent at explaining esoteric concepts. She's prob. the hardest theory teach; a lot of people dropped day 1. (Cowards)

Absolutly wonderful. This class was difficult but I came away from it with a very clear understanding of the subject matter. Don't expect to pass this class if you do not want to make an effort (ie class participation and course work). Should've had an A, but I chose to fail and didn't do one of the projects. I would highly reccomend her to anyone.

She is by far the best teacher i have had in a long time. she is very tough but as long as you do the homework and come to class prepared you will do fine. there is alot of work but she goes over it very well in class. she was always very willing to help in any way that she could. though the class was hard i look forwad to taking her again.

Oh hush, I had Intro Sociology with her when I was in high school and I got a 96% and ended up not even taking the final. Her class is more difficult than the other sections, but it's not nearly as awful as everyone is saying. I enjoyed it.
