Excellent - one of the best English classes I've ever taken. Very enthusiastic. Questions on exams come from the class notes, sometimes word for word.

Dr. Noguchi is great ~ super nice, really excited about the material. The undergrad courses are less interactive than the grad ones, but he does let you ask questions ~ even if he doesn't always answer them very clearly. He has a tendency to lecture a bit too much, but his tests are short & pretty straight-forward. & he's a very generous grader.

Professor Noguchi's lectures can be a little difficult to comprehend because he can be all over the place at times but, all in all, his class was pretty easy. As long as you're there for majority of the class sessions and follow-up with homework, the class should be a breeze.

he gives very detailed exams that need memorization on the subjects. It's difficult because he assumes the concepts are easy for the students, as they are to him. Nice man....... and it's true, there are students that do really good in the exams and then there are some that do really bad

Very Hard and Technical class, and there is no in-class cooperative learning to better understand the subject. For the Test, half of the class does well (previously educated) and the rest of the class does poorly - there is no middle (blame it on poor teaching strategies). Passing tests is very hard, even if you spend alot of time studying.

Nice teacher. He knows a lot about the subject. There are no surprises on tests. He doesn't give a lot of work. But you need to be in class, most of test/quiz comes from class notes and lecture. Sometimes class can be boring.

Great teacher! He's VERY passionate about what he's teaching which makes it more interesting. He's very helpful inside/outside of class and tries hard to help his students understand some difficult material. Be in class, take notes, and do all the reading and you'll do good. Can't go wrong w/this prof!

He is super nice! Tries to be funny at times but is very helpful if you need it. He does help with extra points if you do the work. He likes the initiative students take. He does take role religiously so be in class. The tests are mostly taken from the lectures and the class notes so pay attention.

Gives too many extra points to students who are failing on tests. Future teachers should know grammar and not pass from extra points having to be given to raise their grade. Doesn't teach certain functions of grammar stating that it's too complicated. Well, it's not complicated, and future teachers need to know this stuff.

I recommend that you study your ass off for the exams. At the end of the course he will give you the option of keeping the avg of your class exams and not take the final. Do all the homework problems...he won't collect them but it will help you for the exam. Prof. Noguchi is very helpful and clear. I give him a thumbs up.

I LOVE Prof. Noguchi! He is my very favorite prof at CSUN. He loves his subject and encourages those who also have the same love for linguistics/history of the English language. I know he has a tendency to spit when he talks so try not to sit in the front row. However, he's very knowledgable and I thought he was a joy in the classroom! Again, he's my very favorite professor out of all the professors at CSUN!!!
