Renee is amazing, she has made french less intimidating for me! her energy is off the charts, she is so much fun. I really enjoy being in her class as this is my second with her! You will have to come to class, participate and do your homework in order to pass but if you really want to learn french then it's all worth it in the end.

Renee likes her students and likes teaching. She's fun, keeps things moving along with rushing, provides lots of feedback, makes good use of examples to explain material. It's not a hard course, but it's important to do at least some homework/review to get a A. She even gives out candy every class, what's not to love?

To be honest, I would not take the class again if someone paid me. She is a kind person, who is willing to help. But unless you have no other classes, no job, and already have a french background you should avoid this prof at all costs.

If you don't like getting up every 10 mins to talk to other students, VERY frequent quizzes, at least two a week, LOTS of homework this class is not for you. difficult marker. focuses more on activities than actually teaching. Not an easy class, avoid it at all costs if you don't need it or take it with another proff

Renee is a great French prof and really cares about her students. In order to succeed in her class, participation and attendance are essential. Lots of small assignments and group work during class, as well as homework- all of which are for marks. A ton of effort is required to learn another language but if you work for it, a good mark is doable.

Great professor, really cares about her students. Very nice and funny, willing to go the extra mile. She gives LOTS of handouts and quizzes. This is not a class where you sit, listen and keep your head down. You will get called on, you will have to talk to your classmates, and you will have to participate. But you will have fun and LEARN!

Mme Blis is an excellent prof. She really cares about her students and will do everything she can to help you do well. She responds to emails even late at night or on weekends if you need help. Her classes are fun with lots of activities to encourage participation so you get lots of opportunities to speak french and drive the vocabulary home.

By far the worst language class experience of my life. As a student of multiple languages, I must say she could stand to take a few classes on educating. Nice woman, but she has no idea how to teach a class. Good luck.

She's a good prof and all, she tries to make the class fun and interactive but she is an extremely difficult marker. Don't take her class if you don't need to. Also when posed with a problem she didn't really know how to handle it, I tried all her recommended solutions but when all of them failed she turned her back on the issue.

I found she gave much better feedback/"helpfulness" during office hours rather than in class. I found she almost tries TOO hard to make the class fun. IE: I think at times she focused too much on playing games rather than the actual material. Overall though, I enjoyed being in her class & she taught the material well. She's clearly passionate.

Renee is an amazing teacher! Funny, always ready for the class and there to help you! She gives extra credit but there is a lot of homework. Its not an easy class but any language class has a lot of work. I would recommend her to everyone. Her jokes and comments are hilarious! and you learn a lot!

Madame Bliss is a wonderful prof. Her lectures are clear and she is very helpful when you have a question. She recognizes that not all students are in it to be french whizzes so her marking on quizzes is pretty generous, however you should know your material for the midterms because she really looks to see if you improved.

Renee cares so much about her students success. She will go above and beyond. Sometimes the class group work can be tedious but you really get to know your classmates. She tells you exactly what to expect for exams, and hands out bonus marks galore. Definitely one of the kindest and most passionate profs. Take her class if you can!

Comment:

Mme Bliss is amazing. She is so warm and caring and takes things very slow. She cares so much about her students' learning and tries her best to make sure everyone understands. There are daily homework assignments, rarely for marks but she does check to see if you do them, along with small weekly quizzes. Sounds painful, but so helpful in the end!
