Awful experience. I felt like I was learning nothing. You can barely understand him and he is no help if you ask him for any sort of help. Just don't take his class, especially if its a required course.

-Impossible to understand between a very thick accent and the whisper he speaks at most of the time. Lecture notes and other material will, for the most part, leave you more confused than when you started. Constantly uses light red and green markers, which are next to invisible if you aren't sitting in the front row. +Assignments are decent.

By far one of the worst courses I have ever taken. Renjun Ma is very difficult to understand, his discourse is incredibly dry and nulling. Although I attended all lectures, it nearly put me to sleep and most days I just self taught the material. Weekly assignments aren't so bad, midterm and final you are allowed a cheat sheet.

Hard to understand at the beginning, gets better through the semester. I don't find his class notes very clear and they are hard to follow. I don't feel like we learned the basis for the hard problems.

Has no idea what he is doing. Talks way too soft and and take half an hour to get the projector screen to work. Gives pretty good notes but very confusing to sit in his class and listen too him.

Unlike the other poster, I liked his examples they proved VERY helpful in assignments which were worth 20% of the grade. He is hardly stupid and definitly knows how to teach.
