Comment:
He uses some humorous examples that are up to date, but the tests are rough(make-ups are oral f.y.i.). There were a lot of old movies to watch near the end which makes waking up for class impossible. The teaching is clear, but his personality is abrasive. The topic can be fun but it was taught in the dullest way.

Wow - it was difficult to read the negative comments about Dr. Van Almsick (who always allowed us to call him "Rex"). I always thought he was difficult, and it took me a while to get use to his writing all over the board (does he still do this?). I had him in the mid 80's, and I loved having him as a professor. He was kind, funny, and VERY smart.

This one credit hour course consists of 5 long night classes. The professor made these nights engaging and interesting. They flew by. Tests are somewhat challenging.

At first he reminded me of Sam the Egale, but later he just be came annoying not just in his class. But he interfeared with other classes. His test basicly ask you the write the book in your own words not leaving anything out(you mush know everything).

I forgot that I had given Rex a good review... turns out I ended up with a D in the class anyway so i'll HAVE to take it over. I take back what I said about taking another class by him. I'll go with the professors who care about us.

I dont know how anyone can say they don't like his teaching style or the class. The man explains everything so clearly! He uses real-life examples and challenges students by making up scenerios and asking them "would it be legal/illegal to..."I love his class - and wish I had the opportunity to take more of his classes and i HATE government!

He has to be the worst teacher I have had @ FBU. He doesn't really teach he just reads from the constit. I pretty much memorized the MO & US constit. and I still got a D. But in his defense it is hard to teach the constitution in just five class periods. FBU might as well make it a 8 or 16 wk. class worth 3 credits if they making it mandatory.

This man has a striking resemblance to John Malkovich and he sucks at teaching. Try to get someone else for the US and MO Constitution class.
