Very passionate and knowledgeable about her subject, and is probably a great class to take for your major. Treats students like high schoolers, very hard grader, and test/quiz answers are very similar, making it very frustrating if you understand general concepts and not individual pieces of info. Doesn't want all students to pass.

Very passionate prof, VERY valuable and relevant class. If you're just trying to finish up GE and don't actually care- do yourself a favor and don't take this class. You'll just waste your time, and truth is Laney doesn't want you in the class anyways. If you're dedicated to learning and genuinely care- DO take this class! You wont regret it.

She does not take attendance, but she literally has pop quizzes every day that it is. Basically, you will take a C or D. Her tests are heavy and she expects you with high standards. Great teacher and passionate, but too much work

By far one of the most engaging professors I've had at SSU. She sets the bar high and expects a lot from every student. The exams and reading quizzes have no surprises; as long as you pay attention in class and use the resources she provides, it's a breeze.

Attending, reading, paying attention as she rambles on as fast as she can talk while taking good notes, using her allowed cheat sheet note card on the exams and studying is maybe enough to get you a C. Way too information heavy and the tests are designed to fail you. If you need the course look somewhere else

All I have to say if you work and go to school, DO NOT TAKE! Very nice, but 4 or 5 times posted the HW 24 hours before its due, which is hard to finish 5 articles and questions when you work 8hrs that same day. Plans for more material then she cant handle in class, ending one lecture and starting another. Hard to follow along with.

She really knows her stuff. I took her my first semester and loved the class, she is very clear about what you need to do to pass and gives you the tools -no surprises. She gives fantastic power point presentations (with notes to follow along). I am a History major and I learned more about History in her class than some others. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Laney admits she likes making the class difficult, and it is. Ridiculous amount of material at whirlwind pace. 5 large tests that are rough, and include ?s on small details. Almost daily quizzes on mandatory readings/videos that u only get 6 minutes for, unless u show up early. You'll def learn a lot, and it's interesting, but not very enjoyable.

This class makes you earn your credit. It isn't difficult in the sense that you can't comprehend it. It's difficult in the sense that you must read and understand it to pass. You will leave this class knowing so much but it is hard. You'll feel like you're struggling if you miss it skip something. Be prepared to have it take over your time.

Rheyna is a good techer but shes tough. She posts a study guide online for each lecture(USE THEM ALL) her lectures follows the study guide pretty closely. The Test questions come from her study guides. I just copied her study guides then filled them in as she lectured. Her test Q's are hard, but she uses a steep curve. Do the readings they're short.

Prof. Laney tries to scare people out of the class the first day by making it sound like the hardest class ever. Its not. Its actually really interesting and you will learn a lot of things that Americans should know about the world. Success in this class is simple. Do the readings. Go to class. Engage yourself in the lectures.

All time worst teacher. She teaches in a narrative based style in which you have to glean all important facts. She attempts to aid the class by giving out study guides, but even these aren't all inclusive, although she claims they are. This class is needlessly difficult. Your hard work and effort will not be rewarded.

Took this class as one of my last GE courses, I am not affiliated with the major and was taking it to just to finish the last of my GE's. Interesting class but not easy. If you are just looking to finish up your GE's like I was avoid. This class is interesting, interactive, the professor is kind, get ready to put your GEOG hat on!

She makes the class harder than what it is. Crams you with too much info. Its suppose to be interesting, but she makes the work unreasonable. She is late to have other people do her grading, but expects you to be on time. she is controlling and have everyone move their backpacks to the other side of class. Petty and lousey attitude.

Toughest class i have ever taken but I learned a lot. VERY IMPORTANT to take notes in class because the exam questions will all be from the notes. Attendance is mandatory because she takes quizzes before the class. Again TAKE GOOD NOTES and if you are interested in international affairs, you will learn a lot from this class.

The worst experience I have ever had with a professor. The course started off with about 60 students and the day of the final the lecture room had just half the students left. Very unhelpful and unsympathetic. You are better off spending another semester in college than trying to actually succeed in this class. Made going to school very dreadful.

Reading every class, mostly magazine article-type stuff, nothing too long or dry. Definitely challenging, but easy to manage if you do the reading and come to class. She hates grading so there's no real homework or papers, just one easy group paper, several non-cumulative tests (mostly multiple choice), and "pop" quizzes each day for a few points.

. 24 percent of our class is failing. In my opinion that is a teaching issue. I busted my ass to get a good grade and I still failed. I made an error of being in the hospital for the first class and I could never catch back up. She does not stop for much. I would stay away from this class unless you already care about international issues.

This was a difficult class with tough tests. But she is a great teacher. She moves so quickly through the lectures, be prepared to take good notes. Overall I learned more than any class in my college career. If you want to try a little but learn a lot, take this class.

4 test (all long and abnormally hard, even if you attend every class), one paper (no time to do in between all other work), quiz at least once a week (hands out 5 minutes before class even starts), 3-4 HW assignments a night. I am a 4.0 student and I can't pass this class. DO NOT TAKE! She is really that bad, to the point I am crying. TOO MUCH WORK
