This was a great class. We spent the first 5 weeks working on the wheel - lots of practice before grades. We then did 2 coil projects and a slab project. Professor Holt was very clear with his expectations, very friendly, and always willing to help, I HIGHLY recommend this class.

Rich is very knowledgeable. He is the ceramics departartment and knows all the ins and out of the day to day operations of the studio. He is always willing to help.He easily gives encouragement and compliments.I have/will continue to recommend his class to majors and non-majors . He really wants the student to learn and to succeed in his class!

Nice and helpful teacher. Spend time on your projects for the A. The throwing test is hard for non-art majors. However,i dont find him to be hot. You have to wear old clothes to class b/c you will get clay everywhere!!!!!!

I graduated in 03 & still tell people to take this class. Who could possibly not want this man to show her how to use the potters wheel? If you really spend time on the projects you'll do fine. And did I mention he's impossibly hot?

Rich’s is the easiest ceramics professor at TU, a fairly easy A, though his wife Cat is a better teacher and can help you learn how to throw better, as for people saying he’s hot… I guess dirty guys are the new fad. Great person, a little shy.
