Comment:

Burke is a good professor. He gave us a lot of "Low-Stakes" writing assignments, but they're not that hard and you only need like 1-2 paragraphs for them. It is a lot of homework, but he doesn't grade harshly. He had us write about 5 essays during the semester and then revise 3 of them. At the end of the semester we made portfolios for the exam.

Class is SUPER boring--you do absolutely nothing in class, he talks the entire time. Minimal work. Lots of reading-but his choice of books are good. Most writing assignments don't even require reading the text and are 1/2 page at most. He has his funny/quirky moments--loved his accent.

Dr. Burke is very reasonable with his grading schemes and can be quite humorous. He sounds like Ben Stein, with a little more vocal animation. He wants to improve your writing style. Listen in class. He gives good pointers and ideas. Relays HEAVILY on Moodle...but doesn't always update it. :/ All in all, decent class.

Very boring...Even if he's done in 45 minutes, he enjoys keeping you the entire hour and fifteen. He rambles on and on forever! Final exams are rather easy so long as you do a quick review...Grades papers kind of hard.
