Dr. Chapman is a great guy. He loves History and he really tries to engage the class even though it ends up with him lecturing the whole class. The course is not hard to get an A in if you read, take notes, and study. It is a lot of reading, but otherwise it was just 2 projects and 5 chapter tests. Class was boring, but he is a great guy.

He is a TERRIBLE prof. He never stays on subject, nothing that happens in class is on the tests, and the homework rarely has any revelance to what is actually going on in class. I would not suggest taking a class from him.

Hard grader. Switch inquiry if you expect an A from this Professor. Focuses on rambling, ignoring the subject. Textbook is poorly used. This class is one of my greatest regrets at Concordia. good luck!

Not very clear with what he expects. Often opinionated when it comes to grading papers. If you expect an A, drop his classes because it won't happen. Textbook poorly used and often had a negative attitude towards certain people.

He's a really cool guy but he likes to get off track and talk and talk and talk about that one subject for the whole class period making it hard to follow and pointless to have even come to class. Funny, odd guy.

Worst teacher I've had so far in my 3 years here. I took this class to satisfy a core requirement. He barely teaches. He goes on and on about things he's interested in, but nothing pertaining to the tests. His tests are horrible. He treats this class like it's a much higher level class than it actually is. I'm avoiding his classes in the future.

He was okay, he took some getting used to. He was one who if someone tried to challenge his statement took it offensively and seemed to grow a subtle disliking to that person. Thankfully I stayed on his good side and got a B+. He expects A LOT out of his essay exams...but I still think I'd take one of his classes again just cause I like history.

Well....I think the main problem was that I had him at 8:30 am MWF....and..that's too early for any class. He has a pleasant voice (that ultimately lulls you to sleep...:) ) But, he's a caring guy and tries VERY hard to get us going....very knowledgeable and entertaining

He's a great guy, he has to put up with alot from uninterested, apathetic students who are just trying to get the grade. The discussion he tries to facilitate is wonderful. He has a passion for his topic, has good knowledge of his topic, and is a liberal, charismatic, helpful, funny guy. 10 of 10!

I don't think he actually teaches anything. We read things and have student-led discussions. That's it. It's kind of aggrivating if you actually care about history. And his pauses drive me nuts.

dr. chapman is great. very liberal, very intelligent. his mid-sentence pauses are frequent, but it's better than a bunch of stuttering and "um..." i really enjoyed principia with him.

he says "profound geographic implications" a lot in his regional geography class. His little earring annoys me...but otherwise, Chapman is a decent prof. Learned quite a bit about writing good history research papers from him.
