Many did not like him for his unpopular views. You must take detailed notes of his lectures to do well. He will call you out if you are on your phone and not taking notes. He tells you the content on each quiz, the midterm, and the final. It's your job to remember it. Go to him if you are having problems in the class, he allowed ours to redo them.

Professor teaches mostly by lecture, but with 2 books involved towards mid semester. Quizzes are relatively easy; he's checking to make sure you got the main points. Midterm and final cover what was lectured on without the readings- study your notes and you'll be fine. Love his dry sense of humor

I had him at OCC and Le Moyne. We read a lot, but there was very little homework. There were quizzes on the readings. Other than that we had a midterm and final on what he lectured in class. I loved his accent, and if you paid attention and WROTE it down, you'd pass. This isn't unusual. Just speak up if you're having trouble.

He may be a little dry, but his insights are actually pretty interesting. He is fine if you disagree and is good at answering every question you ask (as long as it is is not off topic). He expects you to take notes, be present, and to do the readings. In both classes I had, if you miss 1 class or less, you don't have to do the final.

Have his class at 8:30 am and always look forward to what we are going to be talking about. Slight downside there are many quizzes which count for 50% of grade. They are fairly easy though as long as you read. His lectures are always amusing and I find myself laughing many times at some of the things he says or brings up.

I really enjoy this class a lot. Even though it is at 8:30 in the morning I always look forward to what we are going to be discussing. One downside maybe to some would be there are quizzes almost every class day. However they are usually pretty easy and he doesn't grade tough. His humor which may be dry to some I find hilarious, makes class awesome

By far the worst teacher I've ever had. There is a test everyday and they are all impossible. His lectures don't make any sense and often loses his own train of thought. Avoid at all costs, you will regret taking his class!

I've taken this Professor for both 101 and 210, and he's definitely one tough grader. Class consist of small quizzes and 2 exams with a final. The whole class is lecture and you have to put the lectures into his exams, so write everything. He's sarcastic, but he's very helpful when you needed it. Take detailed notes and listen or you won't pass.

Easily the worst professor Ive ever had. Seems to genuinely have it out for his students. His behavior is unprofessional for a college student, let alone a professor. His communication outside of class was unnecessarily harsh and sarcastic. His grading system is horrid as well. Would not recommend to people looking to learn OR get good grades.

All you have to do is write down everything he says and then regurgitate the notes on the exams. Textbook reading is done in class. Very easy class. He has a New Zealand accent, but it's really not so bad.

Stay clear from this professor. I managed to get a decent grade in his class but he treats his 100-level class as if it were a 300-level. No homework ever but he gives exams where you choose one question out of two and answer in long-answer format. Worst teacher I have ever had. His accent is tough.

the course description is "Western philosophy" yet this professor teaches Greek mythology. Everyday in class you learn new material that has no correlation whatsoever to the last class or the homework

Awful. Grading is inconsistent, zero direction at all throughout course. No idea what I was supposed to have learned or why. How this guy is employed anywhere in the U.S. is beyond my comprehension (he's from New Zealand).

Worst professor I've ever had. The exams are based on your ability to memorize passages out of Plato's Gorgias and regurgitating them word for word. On the bright, side he does grade on a curve.

This professor expects way too much out of his students, especially for an introductory course! In order to succeed in this course you need to be there 100% of the time and write down everything he says if you expect to do well on the exams. As long as you're there every class you don't have to take the final exam.

This man is, without a doubt, THE WORST professor that I have ever had the misfortune of having. I normally don't put much credence in sites like this, but after enduring just a few of his classes I had to post something. Had i ventured here prior to signing up, I never would have taken his class. Please, please, avoid this teacher at all costs.

Is he hard? Absolutely! Is he impossible/unapproachable? No. This is the prof. that truly decipher between the bad/average/good students. Show up, take (feverish) notes, study them and you will be fine. Please do not let these other students scare you away, he doesn't bite although he is very difficult, especially for an intro class.

An impossible professor. He expects complete memorization of his lectures and more. I studied for an exam such that I had an answer memorized and was reciting it in the car. When I got the exam back, there were eight points taken from the question, and when I asked about it, he said that what I had written was not acceptable. Rude, too! Avoid!!
