I hated this class. Fox Talks a lot and repeats himself a lot. I walked out of the class and felt like I didn't learn anything. He also let class out late 4 out of 5 days.

Richard Fox is a demanding teacher, but if you stick with him, you'll gain a lot from the class. To those accusing him bias - I disagreed frequently and openly in his class and received an A.

Dont buy the book, take really thorough notes. He only gives 2 takehome exams and a few minor 1 paragraph hw writing assignments. Dont give your opinion or disagree with him, just take notes and tell him what he wants to hear. The lectures can be boring sometimes as he repeats himself a lot.

Professor Fox knows his stuff. However, keep your opinions to yourself and never go against him unless you want to fail!! You will have you write many pages on topics that would take a paragraph to cover! More like a philosophy class instead of a intro to political science!!!

Fox is highly repetitive and even gave the same lecture twice verbatim. Do not challenge his opinion because he will shoot you down and hold a grudge. Submit a rough draft of your papers, he likes you taking his opinion into consideration. Do not take this class early in the morning, he will put you right back to sleep.

Know who you are and read all handouts. Ask intelligent questions. Keep your opinion to yourself if you are parroting someone else. Test are essay take home and require lost of references to handouts not your opinion. Almost no interaction he lectures 90% of the time.

Don't buy the book. He never asks you to read chapters or tests from the book. Take detailed notes in ALL his lectures. He gives class material used for the tests. Be ready to write 30 pages for 5 assignments. He is worth the work. I won't ever forget Professor Fox because he has made me a better student especially in thinking. Highly RECOMMEND!!

Richard Fox is a good teache, he is very insightfull and will clarify any of the material covered in class. he sometimes strays off on tangents unimportant to the topic at hand, but he always talks about imoprtant politicl topics. overall i like his classes, the homwork is hard but normaly theirs not too much.

Long essays, grades hard,learned nothing about international politics. He often gave the exact same lectures for a month straight talked only about global warming and the afghanistan war. Hated class and I am a liberal. Do not take arrogant enough to think that the only way to learn is by writing long opinion based essays actually learned nothing

Very longwinded, repetitive, boring, very very opinionated, and calls his opinion fact. He is a politician and answers questions like one. Loves long essays and calls them tests. If your not one of his favorites you will not pass with higher than a C. Do not take this teacher if you actually want to learn something about politics.

Fantastic prof! He makes you a better student and teaches you how to think for yourself... how to use your knowledge. You do a lot of writing.. a lot! and expects you to work as hard as he does in preparing his class. One of the best classes in the university!

I also took 2260 with Fox. I will say from the start he is biased toward liberal views, though he does make an effort to be subtle. When opinions other than his were expressed in class, he immediately shot them down. As long as you write your essays based off what he said, even if you disagree, he will give you an A. Boring, repetitive lectures.

veryy longwinded. I had a political science class before and loved it so much I wanted to take another.BIG MISTAKE taking his class! He is an old fashioned type of professor and he is fairly long winded, but all in all not a bad class. The book is never used for tests, which are usually take home. what is used is his lists he gives out in lecture, with the lists the class is just time consuming, but he is a good guy.

I could not believe how biased and pretentious a man this was; I will never again take a course with him. Long essays on topics that should only take a page to cover with any efficiency and a banal focus on illegeracy and consumer technology. If you don't subscribe to his political views you WILL be ignored during class discussion. Terrible.

Fox is not a bad instructor. You can learn alot from him!!! I just got through taking U.S. Politics with him. I did learn a lot. I MUST warn you, though. Attendance is MANDATORY! We had 3 8-10 PAGE PAPERS to write!! YES, I SAID 3! You better be up for essay writing. If you love to write, then you'll be fine.
