Does not take attendance, 4 papers throughout semester, 2 tests with essay answers (this was honors course). Requires a lot of reading, but I barely ever read and pulled off a B in the class. Nice guy, a little weird.

Dr. Gildrie is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Colonial America (his field). Go to class, listen for what he's looking for and keep up with the reading. His tests can be killers if you do not study or understand the main themes so give yourself time to read up! And be on time with your assignments! Great class and I learned alot.

This prof. is a goon. Assigns lots of reading but spreads the materials covered throughout the week. Breaks down lectures on the whiteboard. Will explain what you don't get, will also debate with you willingly. Tests are multiply choice with short essays. Take good notes, write decent papers and use the study guides and you'll pass easily.

Professor Gildrie was out of this world. I love history but he made it so much more fun to learn and the class was super easy as long as you pay attention and read. If you don't like to read i do not reccomend this class because there are 5 mandatory essays. overall on a 1-10 scale I give Gildrie a 10

Mr.Gildrie is what you see. He wanted me to think the way he did on hypothetical entities, and on one imparticular issue I did not agree with him and I paid for it on an essay that I did. I still made a "C" in his class that semester. I am taking him again this semester.

He is one of my inspirations for going into teaching history. He will do anything he can to help you, not matter what it cost him. He has very high expectations of students, and they can be achieved as long as you try. I had him at 8 in the morning when I first started at APSU, so technically he was my first professor ever.

This teacher is a goofball, what a hoot!!!! He is awesome. The catch -- follow the sylabus - no extensions, 5 essays on essays(1-5 pages), 3 internet reviews, the tests -- pay attention and take notes - you will not have a problem, play in class interact with him, he likes to freestyle.
