This professor does not teach you about IR. He assigns so much reading! I never read the OL readings but liked the textbook. He just wants someone to stroke his ego. He is impatient and gets annoyed by people who miss a lot of class. Take him if you like boring classes. You'll survive.

I liked this teacher. He is incredibly knowledgeable and fair minded. Overall the class was not hard. One extended assignment following the news, a research paper and a few quiz's. He does tend to ramble on and get off topic, but its always relevant somehow. Nice guy too.

Prof Higginbotham is a pretty cool prof. I don't know if he'll be teaching anymore, but if he is and you enjoy current events and knowing what is going on on this planet and how the world works take him. Do the reading (skim if you'd like), and actually apply yourself and you'll get an A

He obviously knows what he's talking about, and is definitely a fair grader, but he has an obsession with assigning reading. I am in the middle of reading about 300 pages for the class right now. We had one day to do it. If you don't LOVE reading, avoid this teacher.

If you do the reading, attend lectures, and do your work, you will get an A. This is a relatively easy class. You must be up with current events! The covers a lot of material (especially on China and Russia) and is VERY knowledgable about this feild. He is helpful and encouraging. Slackers will fail.

Dont believe half of what these ppl wrote on here. Most of the bad reviews were from slackers with horrible grammar. If you ignore his lecutres n just read the txtbook and you will get an A. If u go to every lecture and dnt do the readings, you WILL fail..i promise! easy grader, easy class, easy papers...just do the work! Its a REAL college class

This guy is awful!! Spends way too much time having discussions with himself about what he just saw on tv or read in the paper. He uses the last 5 min of class to what we are actually supposed to be learning and it's way to unorganized. I had a very terrible experience. I came to class everyday, completed every single assignment and even did 30 min e.c. Assignment just to get slapped in the damn face with a C-. Really, this guy is a joke.

You will need to keep up on world affairs for this class. Lots of reading, articals, hand outs, books, anywhere from 60-200 pages a week. This is not an easy class. Mid terms and exams are full essay questions. That's it! your grade is based on these, and participation. Half the class, or all the flakes won't make it. It's a REAL COLLEGE course!

I've taken a few classes with him, he's very interesting. If you participate & enjoy polysc, you will look forward to this class. Grade is pretty much based on exams,(essay questions,a few terms and a few short answers)all the questions come from a study guide. If you've paid attention, you will do fine, You will work for the grade, but he's great.

He certainly know's his stuff. You can't fly through this course, if you love Political Science, you will do well. If you're looking to meet a requirement, you will fail. Don't bother! WARNING, LOTS OF READING!! But I loved the guy, BRILLIANT mind, willing to help if you are truly interested. He's been teaching almost 40 years, BS won't work!

He's a great professor, but not easy. There's a lot of reading, and you have to be on top of it to do well in the class.Get involved in class discussions, and ask questions. He makes you work for a good grade, but it is possible to achieve. My one complaint would be that he doesn't always post work when he says he will, but overall he's really good!

One of the harder teachers I've had. Lectures on and on about random things that don't end up being on the test, and only tests you on the 10 hours a week of reading he requires, which he doesn't even go over. Dry lectures. Thought it would be a great class, but ended up boring me. I'm an A student, PoliSci major, but have HATED this class. Beware.

Nice guy, but very distracted. Very often would cancel or create a project and completely forget about it. Way off the syllabus, and though he asks you to read the textbook, his lectures are not from the book, but then you are tested on the book. A little frustrating. But, go to class and pay attention, do the reading, and you should do fine.

I am an English major and prior to taking his class, I had no interest in politics. I took War and Peace and it was amazing. True-you will read for hours and hours but in the end you learn SO much. He made me a better reader, student, writer and a better critical thinker. I am very glad i took the course. If you're scared to learn then back off..

I took his online class. I would have received an A if I wasn't missing a paper. There are only 2 major papers due in addition to online quizzes/tests. DO the homework on time and you will succeed. Lessons learned on my part! Other than my mistake- he grades fair and I found the tests easy.

OMG... where to start? Strayed SO FAR from the syllabi that it was more like a 5 unit class. Totally overloaded students with extra work. Class started with 214, ended with 50. Need I say more? YES... He routinely failed to respond to email, coddled the "underachievers" to the point of extreme frustration for those of us who did the work.
