He's a nice guy who knows his stuff. It's not too hard, and you'll learn a lot. Not much textbook use, but be prepared to read some articles. Pretty easy grader, but he won't pass just anyone. Worth taking the class.

Best History teacher I have had yet and im a history major. Actually motivated me to work my ass off and treated me like an equal. This man is brilliant. Take his class. Nicest guy. Lets you write essays on topics of your choice within the time frame.

I took Mod. Brit and US His to 1865 with him. The Easiest Classes ever. He is awesome. Do the work he assigns and just add your personal opinion to it to act like your are interested, and he loves it. If you bother to listen and do the reading you will actually learn a lot.

US History to 1865 - He's a very fair grader (a bit on the easy side, but I'm not complaining), and he's funny and interesting in class. I feel bad for him sometimes because it doesn't always go over well at 8am. You can tell he's very passionate about his field of study. You'll learn plenty just by showing up.

His class is very boring. He also assigns tedious useless papers that have nothing to do with his class and sometimes, instead of handing back papers with grades, he writes "N/A" and you have to write it all over again. I would rather just get a bad grade. His class is easy but you will learn nothing. I took his US History to 1865 class.

A wonderful man, only a midterm, final, and papers...but the papers are pointless and time-consuming. Take BEFORE 1865 if you want less paper-writing, according to my friend who took that course. It would have been better, also if I didn't have the class in Van Den Berg at 8:30 :(

Anazing man. One of the nicest ppl on the planet; also a fantastic teacher. Fair work load (a few papers, 2 or 3 tests), fair grader. Textbook wasn't needed; he taught it all in class via powerpoint better than a textbook would anyway. Puts powerpoints on blackboard. Novels were great reading too.

You'll get carpal tunnel from the notetaking--he goes insanely fast with the .ppt slides--but aside from that, he rocks. Makes history interesting & understandable. Good sense of humor & book choice. Easy grader w/ papers. Tests=easyish. Approachable. Fun

I agree..he goes too quickly with the notes, but other than that i liked him.hate history and he made me understand it so I appreciate that...there are many papers involved, but they are not difficult at all.lots of reading as well(2books&short stories)
