I dropped this class after the first week, and for good reason. We went on a Saturday hike and there was absolutely no unity whatsoever. The professor was always way too far ahead, didn't slow down, and didn't wait for anyone. Not very helpful and rude as well. Do not take this class just because it's "easy." It's horrible. Good riddance.

Dr. Livacarri is a great professor whose passion for geology is apparent in his lectures. Furthermore, he is a dedicated, punctual and knowledable professor whom has a gift for teaching at the individual and group level. Always prepared, and always created interesting classes, labs, and field trips!

Rick lectured on each section in the book with accompanying Powerpoint slides and handouts than structured a field trip to see examples and teach techniques he had covered from mineralogy to structure. His lectures are fast-paced but never boring! He always had papers, tests graded by next class. A fun class & a great teacher.

His intro classes are easy, especially 113. He steps it up in his upper level classes and petrology is pretty hard and time consuming. Overall a great guy and he will help you out whenever you need it.

Great class! Lots of information, but prof is very helpful. He tells you all you need to know, as many times as you need to hear it, for the tests. Lots of field trips and homework, but subject is made interesting.
