Overall, I enjoyed this class. I found the readings and videos very interesting. Dr. Loder is very knowledgable and cares about his students. However, his lectures are quite boring. Even if you don't go, as long as you keep up with the readings you'll likely pass. Extremely easy tests and only 2 short papers. Would recommend as an easy A.

Professor Loder is a very well respected professor and makes Sociology and Native American Studies very interesting to learn. He counts on you to do the readings but his inspirational classes tie it all together perfectly. He is there for students for any extra help they may require. I would strongly recommend taking one of his classes.

Loder himself is a bit monotone but he is very educated on the subjects he teaches about and it's and overall easy course to take. I would recommend going to lectures because he doesn't post his notes on Blackboard. The exams are very straightforward and the information is pretty straightforward and easy to understand!

Lectures are boring because no one likes to participate when he asks questions. His voice could put you to sleep tho. he cares about us students and wants us to do well. Nonetheless it's an easy class with easy papers and MC tests. Readings are very interesting tho not many people do them. He also shows clips and movies. I def recommend this class

Professor Loder most definitely knows his stuff and the class is not hard to follow. Notes are very easy to take down, as for tests super easy and only two essays throughout the whole semester. I truly loved this class! :)

Professor Loder is, yes, a bit dry in his delivery, but the experiences he relates are interesting. If you keep up with the readings and contribute in class, he'll love you for it. An easy A if you're into the subject.

It's a great class and he definitely knows what he's talking about but the lectures are pretty boring and consequently when he tries to engage the class nobody answers (probably because they've zoned out) which leads him to lecture more. If you actually do pay attention though you'll learn a lot from him.

The topics are interesting but he makes them less stimulating and he doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable of the course he's teaching. I still don't understand his grading system on essays but regardless, the dude is just plain boring.

You can tell that he really wants for people to learn. He gives the fairest exams and essays I've ever had, because his ultimate goal is to have us learn, not to punish us for not doing every single assignment. Always happy to help too.
