Curves your grade so much by the end of the year but I still don't know what I was taught in this class.

Avoid this professor. Took him twice in a 3 year span and failed both times. I went to his office hours multiple times and the math center with little to no help. He gives almost no partial credit even if your work is 95% correct. He expects students to understand the material he teaches on a very very very high level

Even if you fail the first test, he drops the lowest test grade. The first test is by far the hardest, and things get A LOT easier. Very hard material. He gives good notes, which is very helpful. Combined with PatrickJMT on youtube, I learned quite a bit from this class.

I've spoken to a lot of people who have taken probability to courses at other universities. I can say I have a better and wider understanding thanks to Dr. Pappas. His notes are logical, clear, and tell you everything you need to know. They're like a textbook. Just do your homework and use his office hours when you have questions. You will learn.

Worst Professor Ever. I went to his office and he said "I can't help you if you are too slow to get it." I've gotten A's in 300 level math courses but he failed me in a 200 level? He has something against math majors that are unfamiliar with computer science, he constantly criticized me for not knowing programming.

For calculus being as abstract and difficult to teach in regard to notation and verbal representation, I thought he did a great job. He was concise and straight forward with his methods. Sometimes it is difficult to stay focused just because of the material's content. Stay focused and do the hw and you will be fine.

Worst teacher in the whole school, makes up his own homework so you can not use the book to find answers, does not explain what you did wrong on the homework. TESTS are you kidding me? hard to understand the questions let alone actually do the problem. and it isnt like I haven't tried in the class, I do hours of work for it a week

I spent the entire semester asking for help, having two different intelligient tutors, and still managed to fail his class. when i went to his office, he made me feel like the dumbest person because i did not understand the material. he does not care about the students, nor how they do. you basically have to teach yourself..so goodluck!

Horrible Professor. We started with about 25 kids in the class, and ended up with 5 of us at the end. I think he has OCD with his erasers and chalk. Do your homework, because sometimes at the end he gives points if you did your hw well throughout the course.

Very straight forward class. Do the homework and study the notes and his exams are a piece of cake. I was all worried when I took his class because of what everyone had told me, but the class really isn't that hard at all.

Very hard. Tests were nitpicky. Over half the class dropped due to failing grades. Lack of personality and not very approachable.

the worst teacher i had come in contact so far, he does not explain anything and when asked a question he just mumbles to himself, only 3 people in our class passed out of 30 and more than half dropped him.

Hear from a lot of people he's a good teacher. Can't really see it myself. ODC to a fault, and takes off of tests and homeworks for right answers because of this. One step away from Penmanship counts. Homework is hard, tests are harder. Little help when gone to and doesn't have prior information. Repeats himself constantly due to inflexibility.

Honestly the best teacher I could imagine for this class. It's not easy, but if you do all his homework and go to his office hours when you don't understand something you'll be fine. He follows the book very little and lays out the material in the clearest, most efficient way I can concieve. I've never so fully understood a class as I did afterthis

I failed Pappas the first time I took him and I was convinced he was the worst teacher in the world. After I took the time to actually show up to class, do the homework, and do textbook problems, I found out his class isn't impossible. He teacehs at a collegiant level but it only takes some effort from you to pass. Very helpful in his office use it

Pappas's teaching way is hard to follow in class, but if u bring questions to ask after class, it becomes more understandable. His note are pretty clear. Homeworks and exams are exactly based on his notes. Students who blame Pappas, his homeworks or exams, they just do not study his notes and are lazy to come to ask questions outside of classes.
