Nice guy with crazy literature humor (or is it more dry wit?) I think he wants you to see literature from a different light, not so much the cut and dry formats of lit. disection. Like the other student said, he likes the compare and contrast authors' ideas.

Great class, but watch out for the midterm and final where you write essays comparing and contrasting the ways in which different authors treat ideas and themes. He uses about 15 Dover books which cost only $19 total so you don't have a heavy, and $ book.
